With the publication of Christopher Hitchens' book "God is not great", Sam Harris's "The End of Religion", there is a claim by some that atheists are being persecuted in the United States. Usually the evidence is that according to polls, a majority of American citizens will not vote for a proclaimed atheist as President.

Now I can accept that some people are still prejudiced against atheists and agnostics. I can even accept that some Christians aren't exactly keen on defending the rights of atheists. On the other hand, I don't know if we can say that atheists are being persecuted.

how he was spit on, mocked, beat very badly, pierced in his side, yet never opened his mouth. he could have called the angels but he didnt. he stayed on the cross! he knew us and yet still love us! even said Father forgive them for they know not what they do. we cant even let go a minor betrayal but he died without deserving death. we are so unworthy of his mercy and he still loves us.

That maybe God created both evolution and creation both for a reason? yes we are going to look like monkeys, we cant have been the only thing God created to look kind of like us, and yes we all come from the same line, God made us all. Maybe the monkey was a practice test.

Someone asked me what religion I was. I have never really thought about it before today, but I don't really have one. I don't believe in any kind of God or supernatural power or anything like that. So I just told the guy that I am religiousless. Do they have a name for people like myself????

The islamic definition of morality and good conduct is the same as anyother humane person's. To live in peace, do good to others, help those less fortunate, and defend and protect the weak. What do you think of this quote?

"Muslim children, although distinct in their value system, still are exposed to and affected by what they see and learn. In Islamic teachings, great emphasis has been placed on moral conduct and behavior.

The Quran says, "Lo, the noblest of you, in the sight of God, is (the one) best in conduct. Lo, God is knower, Aware" (49:13).

"By the soul, and the proportion and order given to it, and its enlightenment as to its wrong, and its right. Truly he succeeds that purifies it (the soul), and he fails that corrupts it" (91:7-10).

Prophet Muhammad (), has said, "I have been sent to perfect your conduct" (Bukhari and Muslim). "A fathers' teaching his child good manners is better than giving a bushel of grain (in charity)" (Bukhari)."

I got a free Book of Mormon from the elders. And I found a book that had all the Book of Mormon, the Doctrines and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. Unfortunately, I couldn't check it out because it was in the reference section. And even though I could, I'd still like to have my own. Will I able to get one from the nearby ward? Would I have to purchase it? And what time will be appropriate? (I'm able to make it between 5and 7 p.m. on tuesday, wednesday, and thursday.) Help plz.
P.S.: I'm not an official mormon yet, even though I am greatly interested in the Church and am planning to become one after some studies and getting agreement from my parents.(I'm 17 and thus not independent yet. Also I want my family to approve me joining the church so that I don't have to face bitter situations.) Without a doubt, I've never been to a ward although I know where it is. That's why I'm asking these questions which would obviously look so basic to mormon brothers and sisters.

3. you must sign your answer by saying "My Bella, Mi Amore!"

Now...I have the control! ;)

Will you come forth and submit to my demands????

I don't get why people take the Bible literally word for word. Even Jesus himself said that the stories in the Old Testament were symbolic and not to be taken literally. To take the stories in the bible Literally is to miss the point of the stories. The stories in the Bible are about redemption and forgivness. They are desinged to give people moral guidance in their lives and to teach people how to live moral lives. It gets so old hearing people try to prove the Bible scientifically when the bible is so obviously not a textbook.

If you could choose one person that you would love to see born again, who would that be? Actually, you may name more than one but put your greatest desire at the top of the list.

P.S. I'll agree with you for them.

In detail, what do you think his "image" would be? We all know how Jesus has been depicted. There has been so many paintings/mosaics...etc...

How does Satan appear?

A recent post asking about the difference between christian and "born again" christian garnered this reply, among others:

"A So called Christian can be anyone that claims a believeth, But they have not the spirit of God or the Spirit of Truth which is the same thing. But a True Born Again Christian will possess the spirit of truth that will not leave that person Confussed. The fake one will have a thought, the real one will have a Experince."

Now---after you stop ROTFL at the whack job typing and grammar skills, notice that this post seems to lay out at least FOUR specific levels of christianity:

1. "So called" Christian.
2. Christian.
3. "born again" Christian.
4. TRUE "born again" Christian.

Is there a secret handshake? Separate churchs? Different heavens? What gives?

Why can't y'all just get along? :-)

It is the same the with the crockaduck.
Evolution actually specifically disallows this possibility, because evolution requires gradual changes to occur over millions of years.

So if you want to disprove evolution, you should be out there hunting for these things.
