No, when you search for something many of the results will be jumblings of the original search. Many of the questions will only have the words, religion and spirituality. Many might only have the word atheist in common with the original set of words. Now, I'm sure that question has been asked many too many times. But to say it's been asked 37,000 is a stretch, especially if you're only going off of search results.

New twist on an old question:

Atheists, why ARE we here, on R&S?

Can you please describe why you enjoy being on the R&S section moreso than other sections in Y!A so that maybe we can stop reading the question of "Why are Atheists in R&S?"

And before you ask: Yes, you can drink to this question.

then why did they give us Freedom of Religion? That obviously goes against the first and second commandment, yet they put it in the first amendment. (Yup I'm on a rant today. I love you all anyways.)

I think that's how you spell it. There is an Evanescence song called Tourniquet but I have no idea what tourniquet means.
The song goes "My god, My tourniquet. Return to me salvation."

Historically the Pharisee's saw G_d as infinitely wise and

merciful, deeply concerned with the fate of us and in control of

each person's life, except 4 the power to chose between good

and evil,--

So most of them became Christians cause they were

spiritually aware and realized the Temple veil splitting from the

top down meant something --that all the eye witness' to the

resurrection must mean something .

But the Sadducee's conceived G-D as remote and quite

uninvolved in human activities and believed that man has total

charge of his life-(doesn't that sound familiar Mr.

fisschmann) ?

Ok i go to this summer camp called Luhi, and my friend who doesn't worship Satan told me all about these rituals and said he casted a destruction (doom) ritual on the camp itself. The next day their was a tornado about 40 minutes away from the camp. it's day two and i haven't heard of anything... and i took off today. Most things happen three days after (for example some one casted a doom ritual on someone else and three days later they got brain cancer.) (true story) So what should i do? I dont praise satan or anything like that. I can't report him for three reasons. 1. I am friends with him 2. He may cast a destruction ritual on me next. 3. People would probably not believe me. So what should i do? Just think its a myth and ignore it? I would prefer if you'd answer if you did a ritual yourself.

Thats a good point - you guys seem to hate questions... and answers...

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I get lost!"
"That is why I chose this way."

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.

Does God really know all that is in my heart? Does he really know every thought I think? Does he know when I want to please him or serve him? Does he know how sad I am when I fail?

Does he know that sometimes when I am mean or rude, it is sometimes to cover the fact that I am weak or unsure?

Does he know that I want to be a better person, someone he could be proud of?

Will I ever be good enough?

Since faith is a product of our consciousness, and our consciousnesses continues to evolve, will we eventually lose faith as a useless appendage?

My folks are from the World War 11 Generation, they taught me that nothing in life is free to work hard for what you want.

That family is very important , respect adults treat people like you want to be treated respect is earned not demanded, and GOD always should be the center of your life let the bible be your guide on what is ultimately right and wrong..

What do you think the next generation is learning?

If you have children do you teach your kids what your parents taught you?

i am speaking to those who are striving to be a christian,in which being a christian is not a religion it is a way of living your life,if you love Jesus the son of God,then I am talking to you? John 14:17 even the spirit of truth ,whom the world cannot receive ,because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him,but ye know him for he dwelleth with you,and shall be in you.

As an atheist, I admit that I might be wrong (though I currently find it unlikely)

If Christians don't do this themselves, how can you expect the rest of the world to convert with that attitude?

Being absolutely sure (because of the Spirit's peace or whatever) isn't good enough - talk to those that are quite sure of their own, different faith.
