Proverbs 31:10-31. Bottom Line...

i answered your question on the other board. I think that some people may have interpreted it as a 'be submissive to your man' thing (maybe, I'm not sure). I sort of did when the pastor i spoke of in my other answer started talking about it. He was very clear, stating "no no, it doesn't refer to the sexual aspect of a woman's life insofar as what you do in the marital bed, it refers to the strength of a woman maintaining her family". He went on to speak about how the virtuous woman takes comfort and worth from seeing her family well fed and well dressed and presentable and knowing that her hand was in this....that her accomplishments BY CHOICE were reflected by her family (or, said the pastor, for the single woman, her career, or whatever---he applied it across the board to EVERY woman. Am i getting this right?? I am not religious at all but i can relate to this (I'm a wife and mother and work part time at a non profit that works with autistic children)
Is this similar to the theory in that book 'The surrendered Wife' that came out a couple years ago??? I didn't read it but a colleague did and it is sounding very similar.

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." Proverbs 31:10

So many women today were not taught how to run a household efficiently while in the care of their mothers. God gives guidelines for how a virtuous woman lives. Proverbs 31 is an empowering look at the role of women. Not only is a virtuous woman righteous in the Lord, but she is a loving wife and mother, a smart shopper, a seamstress, a gardener, a good housekeeper, and trains her children with wisdom. Her husband appreciates her and can praise her to his associates and friends because she is worthy of praise. Is this attainable for the average Christian woman? Absolutely! All things are possible through Christ. With prayer and study and a little know-how, we can all be "Proverbs 31 women."

is this you previous question?
"In this world today do we have any women out there striving to be a virtuous woman?

proverbs 31:10 says who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far more than rubies. We as Christian women today should be striving to live a life Christ for tomorrow is not promised to us. Ladies study the book of Ruth and see how virtuous she was ...(this a very beautiful story) "

I believe Ruth holds a beautiful example of how to live a virtuous life.

You will find many people on this forum that are non-believers
Yahoo answers to spew forth hatred towards Christians. Just be prepared for that to happen. But know there are fellow Christians here that support you. Even if we did not see your initial question.

I'm also a Christian, and I see alot of hate and criticism everywhere. The Bible does say we will be persecuted. It all starts with hate and criticism. Then it goes all out of hand. It has happened with many countries. The US will be one of the last countries, but we are closer than we think

You appear to have just joined this forum as did I. First, not everyone on this forum is Christian. Unfortunately, whenever a Christian asks a question, many non-Christians respond. Sometimes their responses are helpful, but often they are mocking.

It appears to me that there are many people here who have had bad experiences with the church and/or Christians. They appear to be bitter. It often effects their answers.

I'm sorry that you were attacked.

Some people just want to be heard regardless of what they say. Don't take it personally. When people don't know, they react in a way that may not agree with our beliefs. Be blessed!
