The FLDS carry on the teachings of living the Principle (Polygamy) as taught by the Mormon Prophet, Joseph Smith.

However, the LDS (Hinckley sect) no-longer practice the teachings of Joseph Smith (ie. Polygamy etc.). So then why do the LDS (Hunckley sect) use the name Mormon when that belongs to the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints headed by the Prophet, Warren Jeffs.

God accepts only Christians into heaven? (Followers of Christ.) Also, do you believe that God is Christian? Is the Creator of the Universe a God who adheres to ANY particular religion---be it Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Wiccan, Buddist, ect.??

Jesus Christ told Nicodemus, that Except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Jesus said Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. We may be born of water, but no will be born of the Spirit until Jesus Christ returns. Jesus also said, no man has ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven. John 3:1-13.

I know there plenty that are against. I'm not asking about them. What about those that do support it? How are they not hypocrites?

For the record. I'm atheist and am not opposed to the death penalty on moral grounds. Child killers (and the like) shouldn't be allowed to live. The problem I have with it is how it's administered in our woefully flawed legal system. But I digress.

If you had the opportunity to choose/design a human validitation system (ie; what religion and belief in God do to validate the existense of those who choose to believe), what would it be?

When you get to Christ he is the only one that ascended after raising from the dead with a promise to return and judge the people of the nations. He is the only one that proclaimed to be God. Jesus would eliminate all the others with the saying" I am thee truth, thee way, and thee life, no man comes to the father except through me" The father being God in heaven. If this is true too, then the other major religions, that actually have an impact on the world would be eliminated by that one statement. And even if one of the other subjects claims anything like this, Jesus is the only one whos body is not on this earth to examine, because he rose from the dead and split off the face of the earth, and is on his way back one day. Buddah, Mohammed etc...? Jesus is not here like those other guys. HE IS GONE!

When I was young, I was taught by my Catholic parents to believe in God. I grew up, and although I didn't practice any sort of religion, I did believe in God. Then I started to question and wonder....and became more Agnostic than anything. Now I'm starting to dwell even more, and I feel like the rational explanation is that there is no God or Gods....however I am so sad by that possibility. I can remember thinking how horrible death would be if all you did was cease to exist and have no after life. I thought "Oh that's horrible, there's no way"....but now I think that is probably the truth. It's like I wish I believed, but deep down I don't. I wish God *did* exist. Has any one else been in this mind set before??
