A Jehovah's Witness may use the acronym "P.O." to represent "presiding overseer". The bible (and Jehovah's Witnesses) uses the terms "elder" and "overseer" almost interchangeably.
While no particular elder (or "overseer") is elevated above any other, the presiding overseer is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the other appointed men in the congregation. In addition, the presiding overseer is the chairman of the congregation's "service committee".

P.O is a JW abbreviation that stands for Presiding Overseer. The P.O is like the head elder in a Jehovah's Witness congregation. All the other elders have to report to him. (in some congregations the other elders take turns at being the P.O) The P.O watches over everyone in the congregation making sure everyone is following all the JW rules. To put it into context he is like a General Manager of a franchise business with the only difference being he does not get paid. The P.O has to report on a 6 monthly basis to another person called a C.O which is the abbreviation for Circuit Overseer who travels around all the JW congregations making sure the elders are sticking to JW policy. Again comparing it to a business the C.O would be like the State Manager.
I have been to many JW congregations so I can comment fairly on the next thing I will say. The Presiding Overseers personality and behavior will reflect in how the congregation presents themselves to others. You have a really nice P.O the people in the congregation will generally be nice and open to new people. If the P.O is a horrible #$&^%# person then generally most of the people in that hall won’t be nice to you. I know a lot of JW’S will dispute this but I have been there so I know what I am talking about. If you want further information please feel free to message me.

Presiding overseer, one member of a group of elders in each congregation that are responsible for the shepherding and teaching work. Each elder has a different responsibility and no one person is more in charge than another. The P.O. is kind of like the chairman of a board in that he presides over the elder body but he is an unpaid and regular Christian just like everyone else at the Kingdom Hall.
