It is important not to "throw them to the sharks" if you can help it. I don't think any manner of checking can keep them from being exposed to worldly stuff no matter what the standards of the college are.
That is why it is important to "train up a child in the way they should go". Start early and help them see that there is a standard to which we all need to strive, the Word of God.

How could you possibly check out the "morality" of a college campus? With so many different backgrounds, ages, and cultures today, you would get so many different social backgrounds and pier groups.
You should already know your child by now at college age, you've lived with them for a while. Perhaps try to match the college to your child, and what they want to study. There will be different groups and clubs I am sure that they can find some to fit your child. As I remember my college - there was both smoking, drinking and drugs and that was over 30 years ago!!! lololol. We all survived it, that was the peace generation. Peace.

Of course it would matter, but how do you really know for sure?? You never know what people are doing behind closed doors, and many times the kids who are "perfect angels" on the outside are the ones doing crazy things in hiding.
You won't find one college that is just full of moral people. Instead focus on teaching your own child good values and morals, and good decision-making abilities.....they will inevitably come face to face with bad situations no matter how much you try to prevent it.

No, I would check to see if the teaching was new age relativism where there is no absolute truth and what is true for one person may not be true for another person.
There are going to be immoral people on all college campuses. That's a given. But why waste your money sending your child to a so called institution of learning that teaches a bunch of foolish philosophy instead of time tested truths?
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

If someone is old enough to go to college, they should be old enough to have common sense. If you haven't taught someone enough in 18 years, you're probably not going to be able to protect them from outside influences. College students are adults, so they can choose for themselves how to dress or if they want to drink, if they're 21. You can't keep someone in a bubble forever.

I care very much. That's why my daughter goes to a public school known for it's LDS community and NO MAKEUP AND JEWELRY rules. :) If that's what I insist on for k-12, imagine how I'll be when it's time for college....

Yes. Since I'd want them to be complete human beings and ready for the REAL world out there...I would INSIST upon a campus filled with smoking, drinking AND dressing sleazy!
