Around the turn of the century due to legal pressure they dropped polygamy.

Due to the culture becoming more accepting of blacks they allowed blacks into the priesthood

I am guessing next will be allowing women to receive the priesthood. What do you think?

After the pope's comments the other day, I would like to know how he can make such a claim. I was raised Catholic, but left and go to an Assemblies Of God church where I have learned more about the Bible and how to live my life as a Christian. The more I have learned and read the bible, the more I realized the amazing claims of the Catholic church to be totally unbiblical. So I would like to hear from those who could shed some light on this for me. Thank You

Did you belong to "traditional/mainstream/orthodox" Christianity before you joined your particular "cult"? (and I say "cult" with all sarcasm)? When did you know it wasn't right?

In Genesis 6:15, God instructed Noah to build an ark that was 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. This is a ratio of 30 to 5 to 3 (length to breadth to height). Until about 1858, the ark was the largest floating ship ever created. In terms that we understand better, the ark was about 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. In 1844, a man named Isambard K. Brunnel built his giant ship, the Great Britain. He used almost the exact ratio of the ark—30:5:3. As it turns out, these dimensions are the perfect ratio for a huge boat built for seaworthiness and not for speed.

Hate to put you on the spot but just wanted to know if you get baptized, and if so, then why do it, if it has no meaning in your church, had a disscusion about it today with a baptist, just wanted to get more insight as to why you think that, when Jesus commands it! thanks for your answers!

Obviously, you would have to have a rebuttal to this by now... just wondering what it is?

Simple version:
-- There is something moving
-- Everything that moves is put into motion by something else.
-- But this series of antecedent movers cannot reach back infinitely.
-- Therefore, there must be a first mover (which is God.)

and any other responses to him...

This is a diplomatic question, so only educated answers please.

What I mean is; does one go from a state of not believing in anything then being influenced by incoming data and then making a choice to believe in something. Or does one start out with a belief in something then make a choice to no longer believe in it?

This is because someone just told me that I apparently choose to be an atheist. I beg to differ, because I don’t remember making a choice at all whereas a Christian or any believer is the one who has clearly made a choice.

And yes, it’s another take on my favorite question; are Christians just non-practicing atheists?

I was saved in a UPCI Church. i was babtized when i was fifteen and sixteen when i recieved the gift of the holy Ghost. I grew up in a angnostic Family. and My friend helped me find my way to salvation through repentence and babtizm . most of the time i would go with the rules.. when i came into the chuch i stuck out right off the bat.. he told me he loved me and he was my best friend for along time.. unitll push came to shove and the church accused me of backsliding.. he turned on me .. in a vicious way. My question.. is this to i go to the chuch that i was saved in.. or do i go to a church where my Salvation is between me and God and not MySelf and the United Pentecostal Church International?

I mean, look at every major government today. China, one billion people - evil communist government that slaughters its own people. America - adminstration that does nothing but lie and bend over to corporate interest. India and Russia - corrupt to the bone and more. (One Indian coworker I met said the only place he ever smoked weed was in an Indian police station, and that all cops there were flexible to cash money - no lie).

Everywhere you go, liars profit, and the vulnerable are preyed upon. This is the 'winning point' of market ideals, that the strong prey upon the weak, and the weak are blotted out for being unsatisfactory in their method of deceit and lies. Everywhere you go there is outrageous death and fabrication. It's part of human nature, so they say.

I think that even if we were to embrace Jesus now, he'd be so disappointed he'd write the lot of us off. Wouldn't blame him. What do you think?
