Questions #7

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20

Sonship Through the Spirit

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8: 12-17

I CHALLENGE YOU TO READ THIS- KNOWING BOTH SIDES OF THE STORY CAN ONLY HAVE A POSITIVE AFFECT ON YOUR LIFE. If you are a true PRACTICING christian, regardless of personal belief, than you believe that EVERYONE who does not follow your religion and its rules is going to burn in hell. So why dont you protest mormans or jews or muslims, they will all BURN IN HELL RIGHT? Is it because you know somewhere in your mind that all this holy ghost or magic on earth crap is all complete bullsh*t, and atheists are the only reasonable people who accept it? Think about how CRAZY and wacko you must be to be a morman, or say a scientologist, yet there are hundreds of thousands of hard core scientologists who believe EVERY WORD of their rediculous religion, BUT WHY? Because they were indoctrinated and brain-washed into their beliefs.
IT IS TIME TO ACCEPT REALITY, AND STOP WASTING THE ONE LIFE YOU HAVE ON RELIGIOUS SUPERSTITION.
now choose to ignore this and stay IGNORE-ant, or accept reality

--I feel that they have been largely responsible for fatherless homes, juvenile delinquency, and the lowering of moral standards. Perhaps, even the rise in homsexuality; caused by the loss of a father figure ( who most of them consider unnecessary) in the home.
Now I hear most of them, want to work only part time jobs.
Now that they have experienced the drugery of working continuously at a job that has lost it's challange, they want to crawl back to the comfort of their homes; leaving behind the social mess for which they are most at fault for creating.

You must repent to be forgiven, but what's the use if you are going to hell for comitting sins anyway while you are on earth.
And why is it so hard to live for Jesus...It would be nice to set an example as christians and let them lead a better life without all the problems of the world.

The Aztecs had to rip open a human chest every morning, because if they didn't, then the sun might not rise the next day.

It's like obsessive-compulsive disorder -- performing the same meaningless action over and over, just because you're afraid not to.

in salvation is it one thing to receive Jesus as Savior and another thing to recieve Jesus as Lord or do you have to do both or else its not really salvation. B/cuz i gladly receive Jesus as Savior but I'm having a hard time completely submitting myself and surrendering my life to Jesus. And in addition to answers I ask you to pray for me please that God would just clarify things, and work things out, and that he wwould soften my stubborn heart... thanks

Hello, all:

In a response to a previous question about Wicca, a poster called the religion a "sham belief".

I'm just curious: on what basis would someone call Wicca a "sham" belief? It has been legally recognized as a religion and is obviously a deeply fulfilling faith for many of those who practice it. It has Deity concepts, philosophy, liturgy, ritual forms and rites of passage; in fact, it is one of the fastest growing religions out there. To me, this argues that it is as "real" a belief as any, both in terms of fulfilling the sociological definition of what a religion is and in terms of satisfying its followers.

Is something automatically false or invalid if you, yourself, do not happen to practice it or understand what it entails?

Thanks in advance to all who take the time to respond.

Whoops, I mean magick. If you are a Wiccan, what have you done that would make the rest of us say "whoa!"

I once had an experience with divining, although it was with electricity rather than water. It sort of creeped me out although I can sort of see how this would be a natural effect rather than a mystical thing. The constant flow of water (or electricity) causes a sort of attraction that can be observed in things like gyroscopes, or the Earth's magnetic field on a compass. So I don't consider divining to be an example of Wiccan or Pagan magic. Is it?

"Of all the good, compassionate things Jesus did in his life, and this is the way they choose to honor him. Sad and pathetic."

I won't namedrop.
I never get heated on Y!A, but this ruffled me.

But honestly. Yes, Jesus did do a lot of other things. But I wear my cross to honor Him. Bleeding to death on a cross so mankind can go to heaven... pretty honorable cause don't you think?

Or is showing respect and remembering His sacrifice "sad and pathetic?"

Do enlighten me.
