The Bible says that all christians should study to make themselves ready to answer any question that someone might ask them. This is done with the help of the Holy Spirit of course.
The Bible also says that all that are called to be Pastors, Preachers, Teachers, or Evangelist, have the job of making the christians ready for the ministry.
So all christians should have a good working knowledge of the Holy Scriptures so that in the event they are ask, they can give a true scriptural answer.
As to Theological colleges, I would suggest a good Bible college such as Emmaus Bible College. My education came from Emmaus and Pillar of Truth Bible Institute. Then I was ordained through the Saint Luke Christian Church.
As for India, there are some of the best Theological colleges in the world, you can find all of them on the internet.
God be with you

Anyone can become an evangelist. All they have to do is go out and preach the gospel to someone else. As to what is required, it all depends upon whether you want to be accepted in a certain church. They are the ones who make the requirements. I know a brother in India who has planted 40 churches and he comes and preaches at the church I attend. He has been a minister of the faith for over 40 years and he never went to Bible college or anything like that. He just studied on his own. Here's a link to his site if you want to check him out and write to him with your question.
His name is Zac Poonen http://www.cfcindia.com/web/mainpages/home_page.php

To the best of my knowledge, India is a very hostile country in that regard. I know of no government-sanctioned Christian institute of any kind. (I assume you meant a Christian pastor or evangelist.) If you pursue Christian training in India, you probably have your work cut out for you, but I wish you well. I have a friend whose sister worked there in a Christian-based boarding school; we had one young local lady serve a short-term mission program there; and I have read correspondence from missionaries and native pastors who have encountered a whole lot of resistance there. Depending on which area you are in, it can be dangerous to the point of nearly impossible to start a church of any kind. But if God has called you to do this, then you are in my prayers.

Don't look to men for ordination. Ordination comes from God. It's Him who got you going (apparently) not the world of men. Paul didn't have men appoint him, God did. So either you have that, or you don't! Don't you know that God raised you? Don't you know that He decided to call you and chose you from the beginning of the world?
Perhaps you ought to stop asking questions for yourself and preach the Gospel. Too many Christians have forgotten the power of the Gospel that God has ordained in the world to be spoken by those He chose out of the world.
God didn't choose us to gain the approval of men.

hi friend it is wonderful question. there are many theologicla colleges in India. all of them are in favour of living against God. there is one recogniged by Indian government that is ATA bible college. in Bangalore. one that can bring you bit close to God is Berean Bptist college at Banglaore.teliphone no.080-22278590.but none of these would make you are qualify you to be pastor or evanglist. it is mentioned in I Timothy and II Timothy and in Titus books of the Bible. so you should be qualified by God to be the Pastor and evanglists. but todays Pastors and ministers are spoiling the image of God and His calling. so think twice

It all depends on your sect - each one sets their own requirements. Also, each country can set standards as to what constitutes an official minister.

You have to be chosen by the Holy Ghost. You cannot become something just because you want to. You have to be chosen!

GOD EQUIPS ALL OF "HIS" CHILDREN WITH SPIRITUAL GIFTS. WE ALL ARE SUPPOSE TO BE DISCIPLES OF CHRIST(EVANGELIST). REGARDING PASTORS, YOU SHOULD REALLY KNOW THE WORD OF GOD WITHOUT RESERVE(YOU WILL BE CHALLENGED) AND HAVE SOME FORM OF THEOLOGY DEGREE. BUT PEOPLE CAN BE CALLED TO BE A PASTOR, BUT YOU MUST BE "CHOSEN". "FOR MANY ARE CALLED, BUT FEW ARE CHOSEN". PLEASE CHECK AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN COUNSELORS(PUT THIS IN SEARCH ENGINES)
