Are you being sarcastic? If you are Christian, then you believe there is an all-powerful God? Or do you suppose that Evil is a force equal or more powerful than God? IF God is all-powerful, then nothing happens without God's consent. If God is not all-powerful, then we have to wonder if there are not other legitimate gods running about.
As for your examples,
China has one billion people. If killing their own people is their greatest sin, then they aren't terribly effective at it, are they?
America - Don't forget that we were sold the Emperor's New Clothes regarding the religious and moral values of our new Dictator. Perhaps some even had the gall to call him the "The Jesus of America" as the Germans once called one of their leaders "The Jesus of Germany." Funny how the Antichrist presents himself as the best pal of Christianity, huh?
India and Russia are most certainly corrupt, but is their corruption endemic? Are the lies Americans are told on a regular basis endemic? How can you know if you never leave the country and make an effort to talk to those "other people?"
Scandinavia takes good care of its people. Canada has problems, but no news from Canada because things there are going boringly well. And there are millions and millions of people that are honest and some of them, for their honesty and the fact that their careers are built upon the fact that they are trustworthy, do manage to be quite successful. If my parents, for example, were not honest and trustworthy people, they would be unemployed and homeless instead of living in a 10 bedroom house with an indoor pool on a 10 acre property. They do difficult work that only honest people can survive for their work is to reform corrupted children within the comfort of their own home - one slip up and the delinquents are more than happy to capitalize on it. Unfortunately, there are many that are like the delinquents and few like my folks.
Take care what side you chose by your use of language.
What I fault you for in this question is working so hard to destroy hope. In that, you have become part of the problem you describe.
I will say it once more for the slow kids: IF GOD IS ALL-POWERFUL, THEN GOD HOLDS ABSOLUTE RESPONSIBILITY. Don't be a fool and then say God is good, all-powerful, but Evil rules to world. What specious reasoning is that?

Evil did in fact rule the world, right up until the moment Jesus died on the cross.
Ever since, the devil has been a fugitive terrorist, getting power only from those foolish enough to give it to him.
That will be the condition of the world until Jesus comes again.

You are right, the world is full of sinners and evil. Thats just the nature of the world and most of us don't even notice because we are so sucked into it all! Its when you get reach that understanding where you can look over the world and see how truly fallen it really is, that you realize we aren't as amazing as we let on to be.
And although we don't deserve it, Jesus died for us so that we can have eternal life. I'm sure he is disappointed, but that doesn't doesn't mean he stops loving us. We are God's children and he will never stop loving us, and he will always forgive us if we ask!

There are two forces at work on earth. Good and Evil. Good is inspired by the divine, by the spiritual. Evil is inspired by the physical, the finite. These forces are in constant struggle for dominance.
There are three kinds of people. Good people, evil people and people who are neither here nor there. It is for the hearts and minds of these middle of the roaders that good and evil contend. As Sir Edmund Hillary said," All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing". We either oppose evil or submit to it.
Your final statement is very incorrect. You dare not put limitations on the Lord. He knows your heart. He knows if you are striving regardless of how successful you may be. I am pretty sure that is all he asks of you. Just be a good person, yourself. Fix yourself and in doing so you inspire others.
All good people are foot soldiers for God against evil. We never really know how well the war is going. We deal with the tactical, God with the strategic. Trust He knows what He is doing whether or not you understand what that is.

Evil didn't rule the world until Adam and Eve sinned. When sin entered the world, Adam lost his rulership to satan who has been the prince of the air ever since. God has ultimate control over everything, but satan does rule this planet until The Second Coming of Jesus when Jesus rids this world of evil and sets up His Kingdom on this restored, renewed (by Jesus) earth. And as long as anyone has the breath of life in them, IF they were to embrace Jesus, they would be forgiven and saved for eternity. But to wait until you are older to come to Christ and live carnally would be foolish, as NONE of us are promised tomorrow. Jesus I'm sure is disappointed in His creation that has lived without Him, but is still willing that none should perish, but have everlasting life with Him in Heaven. Remember the 3 R's about this world:
Ruled by satan
Ruined by man
Reclaimed by Jesus

It's safe to say that people sometimes pursue their own advancement more than the advancement of the species or society as a whole. People who are more concerned with themselves are often very motivated, and work hard to get into positions of power. People who mean well for society as a whole often do not have this same motivation to hold positions of power. That is why we see so many "bad" people in power.

"Why did God create free creatures capable of doing evil?"
Christians admit that God theoretically could have created a world without morally free creatures-capable of choosing between good or evil. However, they maintain that such a world would have been inferior to the one in which we now live. It is important to remember that a system where morally free creatures do not exist is a non-moral system by definition. Christians believe that a world where ethics exist is better than one where justice and virtue are impossible. The ability to make principled decisions is one of the greatest gifts of God. The fact the gift can and has been misused does not lessen its value.

WOW. It is like everyone's eyes are starting to open tonight.
Now if you take this observation backwards you will see a steady pattern of deception and lies. The opposing forces to this evil are violently attacked. When they can not be assaulted physically they are attacked intellectually and every way possible. The evil that attacks them manifest itself as an addiction to "messing with the Jesus Freaks", It is just so clear to me that when I see a question like this I go plain nuts! Yes yes yes.! I agree!

Evil doesn't rule this world But illuison does (Maya) and it is her Job to keep us under illuison because that is what we want. This world is for those who decided to leave the direct service of God and He warned us, it was a bad idea, but like a naughty child we just wanted to check it out. Evil is just a servant showing us were we are at in our inSINserity. Tempts us and then go for it and BOOM. down fall. The thing is if we don't want to be evil or do bad then we don't have to, but we are insincere and evil proves it. Those who take shelter of God in the moment of evils attack wil not fall. Those who try to com closer to God Evil is working harder on them to try to make sure they don't succeed. We want to be in illusion so God tells His material energy Mother Maya to put the spell over us. Those who don't want to believe in Him then Maya puts a veil over their consciousness so they can not see Him though He is everywhere. When one becomes More God conscious the tests get harder, but we also become more intelligent to evil and remember how our surrender to God worked before so we can pass the test. So it only appears that evil rules because that stands out amongst the good. You have ten fingers and if one hurts that one stands out amongst them all. So ther are many good peole but they may not be in the forfront. Many evil persons want power and authority and to be rulers many are political and religious leaders. At the time of Jesus so many where against him and torchured him and still he said "forgive them Father they know not what they are doing." that is the nature of a pure Soul. We can only aspir to follow in his footsteps. trying to have a drop of his compassion and forgiveness. That is what made him so great. We just have to fight evil ourselves and that will make one more strong good in the world. Worl Peace-Unity in dDversity and Diversity in Unity.

Plenty of people who have embraced Jesus are as evil as they come, especially in our government and in our churches. Mr. Bush is the antichrist and what about Ted Haggard, the BTK killer (a leader in his Lutheran church) and the gentleman who killed the Amish girls (also very active in his church).
The world is filled with good and bad of all sorts and denominations. Just believing in Jesus or god won't help at all. And which god are you talking about? Just the Christian god, I'm sure.
