Expressing disagreement, or voicing concern, or even noting disapproval are different from speaking hatred. Sometimes the posts here in Yahoo Answers R&S are hateful. What happens for you when you see hate enacted? And how do you work with your feelings that come up?

I'm tired about the same old sins that get picked on over and over these days.

So let's pick on a new one!

God said not to covet your neighbor's possessions. How about all those covetous people out there!?

You know what? Heck I'm guilty of that one... :(

Haven't the Catholics here been saying over and over, on a daily basis, that the Catholic Church is the one true Church, founded by Christ?

Did the Protestants think we just made that up? Didn't they realize that what we were saying was our Church's teaching?

So why are the Protestants so surprised at the recent Papal statement, which only reiterates what already was the Church's stance?

I honestly don't get the current uproar here at R&S. It's the same thing Catholics here have been saying every day.

Anyone care to explain why this is such a surprise to some of you here?

My sister has a pen pal on Yahoo , and he happened to have a young looking avatar. Well, some high school kids asked him to join in their "wolf pack" to report and delete other people's accounts. (They were doing it "just for fun")

What is their common denominator? They all seemed to be on level 1 or level 2 and not care if they were deleted; cause they didn't have many points to lose. They could simply sign back up under another name.

So, it seems if we could get Yahoo to not allow anyone in level 1 or 2 to report violations, then we could eliminate a lot of problems.

PS: anyone can have two accounts, so some "just mean" folks can sign up an extra account to be used for reporting others, get 100 points and report everyone the don't like, then if that person loses that account, she or he can simply sign up under a different name and do it again. (The person would not lose their main account, just the account they were using to hurt other people.)

Exsist before life came to be????

And I am sure you believe some life microrganism came alive on earth, then when did that happen? and when did DNA come to be? science cannot answer this with accuracy....

Not to sound trivial but the design of a human body is unique
We could of been born with tiny heads one eye, no hair, but we were created in the image of GOD because evolution would not been able to create the uniqueness of a human being, and for all I know Life on other planets might be created by Satan and that is why they look like the accounts given to people who witnessed them at Roswell..
We do not know everything about the Universe and the origin of life..But GOD gives us a Bible to be our guide how to live on this planet in Goodness and in hope that Satan and evil will be wiped away..You say I want the world to end..NOT TRUE I believe myself and other Christians want the evil that we live with to end..Child killings, wars, disease etc...
Thoughts?

Take the question at face value.

I realize that many of you will say "morals don't come from the Bible." In this case, please try to explain why Christians claim slavery is immoral if it is not expressly stated in the Bible.

In Divine texts God refers to himself in the most majestic terms.

Just like in some ancient kingdoms the courts would refer to the King in the plural sense to show honor and majesty.

THIS is exactly why the words in Aramaic and Arabic (maybe also Hebrew) have words which refer to God in the Absolute single tense – they are impossible to be used in the plural sense but when they are TRANSLATED, to show their majestic meaning in the original language, they are made into WE and US .

This is an example of the EXTREME danger when Revealed books are translated and re-translated without keeping the original Aramaic or Arabic.

David Vitter of Louisiana was a habitué of a D.C. prostitute and is a big-time sanctity-of-marriage sort...How many more examples—beyond politicians like Gingrich, Livingston, Giuliani, and Limbaugh; beyond clergy like Jim Bakker and Ted Haggard—do conservative Christians need before they wake up to the truth: that their leaders' pledges of fealty to the concept of "traditional marriage" are meaningless? And that these leaders, as a body, are worthless, only out for themselves?http://commonsense.ourfuture.org/night_hunter?tx=3

We have taken God out of our schools

We have taken God out of our Government buildings

We have taken God out of public view

We built this Country with God as our foundation

If God is gone - then what of our Nation

If people choose America as their Nation, shouldn't they adopt the ways and just know that no matter what they believe in, this concept should be respected.

I was proud to say my pledge in school!

One Nation under God!

Now that God is dead - is our Nation dead as well.

Every war we have ever fought, we assumed we had God on our side. That gave our military that extra strength to fight through hell and win in the name of America.

In God we trust

Are we still winning wars with that same moral?

Now our belief in God must be kept silent!

Where is America - perhaps it is in the same dark place where we have been forced to put God!

It began hundreds of years ago, when the Church changed the Bible. . .

The "New Testament": Pagan revenge

Between G-d's own miracles and the Jewish teaching of His Word, the pagan priesthoods of Egypt, Greece, and Rome were steadily losing their power over the gentile populations. They decided to fight back by creating a new religion, one that would claim to be the fulfillment of the Hebrew "Old Testament," yet would bring back the pagan lies in a new disguise.

Thus the "New Testament" was written, in Greek rather than Hebrew, and attached to the original Hebrew scriptures to try to change their meaning back toward paganism.

The "New Testament" tried to change G-d from One, as in the Hebrew scriptures, into a "trinity" as in Egyptian cults or the eastern religions of Hinduism and Buddhism. It described Jesus as G-d in a human body, like the pagans always described Pharoah and other wicked kings. It declared G-d's Law to be a "curse" that no one can truly obey, announced that there must be a "mediator" between G-d and man, and pretended that salvation could now be achieved outside the Law.

To blind the gentile nations, the "New Testament" also warned people not to learn from the Jews, declaring that Israel no longer possessed the true, complete Word of G-d.

In the Bible, the book of Daniel warned of an evil power--a false religion--that would believe in the true "G-d of fortresses... plus a god its fathers did not know." This religion would "speak bizarre words about the Most High, wear out the holy ones (the Jews), and plan to change the festivals and the religious Law."7 The Christian Church has indeed replaced Passover with Easter (the pagan holiday of Astarte and Ishtar) and Hanukah with Christmas (the pagan winter holiday).

Since then, Christian paganism has expanded to include Christmas trees, Easter eggs, and so forth.

As an Atheist I would like to apoligize to people of faith for the rude behavior and blind hatred coming from my Atheist friends. It's shameful...Sorry. If they would only apply our standards to themselves this would never happen.

An excellent question asked of me: how are you any different?

I can begin by saying I do not believe in a God whose book claims he drowned all humanity, including newborns, infants, toddlers, little kids ... Take the blinders off for a moment and visualize the horror they and their parents experienced drowning. Their book says Their God did that to those little kids.

For another, I do not persecute minorities whose rights and freedoms depend upon the whim of the majority. Holier-than-thou christians will persecute gays while ignoring their own miserable track record with morality and human rights. They try to remove the mote from our eyes but their imperfections would leave us blind.

I prefer to persecute bullies, not their victims.

And that is the other way in which I differ: I really don't care about popularity where intellectual integrity and human rights are concerned. No book will convince me to turn a blind eye to injustice or bigotry: god-made or man-made.
