God died in the 19th century (killed by the likes of Darwin, Nietzsche, and Freud), and Christians are slowly catching up to that fact. I don't know if another century will be enough time for their religion to completely lose its position, and the throught of Islam becoming dominant might be scary enough to help Christianity survive, in a perverse way.

Still, religion is on the decline. Soon enough, the rest of the world will be just like Europe.

I believe that it has already happened and it will be a trickle down effect that will happen slowly up until the time of the anti-Christ. the anti-Christ will be like a god and to many powerful works and perform signs that the bible says will even fool some of the elect of the sons of God. It will not completely go away because in revelations it tells all the elect to get out of her my people if you do not want to share with her and her sins, this is the harlot that sits upon the beast and has committed fornication with the nations. In revelation 14: 6-7 a angel will fly in heaven preaching the good news of the kingdom, this will be the last chance for all to hear the gospel. Christianity is feeling the love of the greater number cooling off and many leaving because of not being spiritually fed. Many are starting to question religion and it's man made doctrines, many see their priest, ministers... sleeping with politics and have become greedy and drunk with money. colossians 2:9-17 tells you don't let any man judge you concerning many things and you'll be surprised what it says about the sabbath, read it! in a spiritual sense it is doomed but we keep trying to invent new religions that tickle the ears of the people to keep them interested. she Babylon the great has received a death blow and has become wounded.

I doubt it. Here where I live (in the Southern U.S.), Christianity is extremely strong, and is showing signs of increased growth. There are literally new churches being built every day, and most religious denominations are experiencing rapid growth. Several churches have already outgrown buildings they only constructed a few years ago. My own church gets many hundreds of new converts every year. So I don't think that Christianity's going anywhere. It may be in decline in some areas, but here, it's quite strong. As long as the South exists, there will likely be a Christian presence, because it's so deeply tied in with the culture.

No, Christianity will not meet its demise in the 21st century. The Christian religion has faced many vicissitudes during its life span, and though there is an increasing movement of skepticism in religion, there has also been a rise in fundamentalist fervor as well. The religion is too large and pervasive to be vanquished in a century. Like all other religious movements who are threatened with oblivion, they don’t really disappear, but morph into another superstition. If you think about Judaism, Christian, and Islam hey are really part of a continuum in the evolution of religion. Christianity arose as a mutation, if you will, of Judaism, when Judaism became untenable in the Hellenistic world, and Islam sprang from both Jewish and Christian traditions, in order to supply a “simpler” answer to those who were disillusioned with both older traditions. As Freud once said as long as man fears his own mortality and is unsure about his place in this world, religion will always be around in one form or another. All we can do as secularists is try to counteract its negative and influence.

Dear Z,

I am assuming that you mean that in the 21st century there will not be one "christian" left... Actually, the return of Jesus Christ will mark the end of the universe. ALL those who have had their sins cleansed by the blood of the Lamb will enter the New Heaven and New Earth. For more info please Google my sources.

You know, so many people on here ask these type questions. If you believe in God and you want answers, all you have to do is read a Bible. It's that easy. And it that Bible you will find passages that speak about many people who will decieve you. So while your looking for answers on this forum, what good are the answers even going to do for you. People on here jump at the chance to ridicule God. The Bible will tell you that in the last days it is like it is right now.

No...and I tell you why:
The Holy Spirit continues daily to convict people of their need of Christ...and:
Anyone who truly is a Christian will cause it to live on, by being a 'light' (a true genuine witness) to those who do not yet know the love of God.

True Christians won't lose their faith...and irreguardless of how much opposition it recieves from Atheists/Agnostics/Pagans/etc. , Christianity will still thrive!

Jesus blood will never lose it's power!
