Somehow I don't buy that load of bullsh!t

If they wanted to find Jesus, they could have started before they were raping, stealing and murdering people!

This whole 'i found Jesus' thing is just a bogus ploy to look good before the Parole Board.

"To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest possible degree."

................ yet always fail to quote what came next..............

"Yet reason tells me, that if numerous gradations from a perfect and complex eye to one very imperfect and simple, each grade being useful to its possessor, can be shown to exist; if further, the eye does vary ever so slightly, and the variations be inherited, which is certainly the case; and if any variation or modification in the organ be ever useful to an animal under changing conditions of life, then the difficulty of believing that a perfect and complex eye could be formed by natural selection, though insuperable by our imagination, can hardly be considered real. "

If he always has been then why did he wait so long to create the Earth and people. Just what was he doing all those billions and trillions of years before he created anything? Was he just playing twinkle toes and teething or what? Or was those uncreative years just a waste of time. And just what is he doing now taking a nap until Armageddon?

I'm asking this here to get a religious perspective. Here are the lyrics:

Heading for the classroom yesterday
The kids file through the metal machine
It finds what they may hide
No it just ain't right...
A sign of the times

Another church is burning to the ground...
Looking for the vandals and they're nowhere to be found
But the hate's alive
A sign of the times, Sign of the times...

Would someone please let me know how we have spun out of
control?
Has the captain let go of the wheel?
Or could we please try to find a way to be a bit more kind?
I see the road to tomorrow in the haze!

On the Senate floor they congregate
Many pockets lined with green,
From those behind the scenes, yeah they take the bribe ( it's on the side )
A sign of the times, Sign of the times...

The song is by Queensryche. It's called "Sign of the Times." Thoughts on this?

I'll share mine once I get some answers.

I am serious..I cannot understand the concept of believing that there is no Higher Power or God or whatever name people want to use. I have seen answers like "Mom and Dad made me" but you know what I mean. Mom and Dad did not DESIGN the equipment.

Many believers today believe in a Pre-Rapture that will take place, This belief was sparked mostly by John Darby in the early 1800's.

The bible seems to lean more over to a Post-Rapture which Jesus explains.

Before the flood, God saved Noah
Before the destruction of Saddom and Gamorrah, God got Lot and his family out of the city.

These places and people were destroyed by God
"GODS JUDGEMENT"

Yet in the Trinbulation period, Nothing is destroyed by God, the Anti-Christ will do the destroying, the Tribulation period is not the Judgement of God, it is the evil of the world so we can't say that we will be raptured before the Great Tribulation because its not Gods Judgement on earth, After the Tribulation is Gods Judgement and we will be snatched up in that moment just like Noah and Lot were saved.
Im not jumping to any conclusions but i will continue my studies

What is your opinion on this?

I just read one of the questions by Mandy and this is what she said:
"You catch more flys with Honey, not fire and hell!"'

I am sorry but i think she's not much better than those who use the ''fire and hell'' metaphor because it is pompous and very degrading to me as an atheist that a christian would think of me as a fly that she needs to use honey to convert.(its not only about the figurative language...its the idea behind it as well)
Im wondering how many people think the same way?

(ps this is the entire question...)

I am very serious with my Jewishness and I accept the existence of the omnipotent.

I find it difficult to say or write the word "god" (whether spelt in uppercase or not, doesn't matter). Therefore I always write "G~D" or other similar ways of spelling. The Torah gives me the impression that the omnipotent is reluctant to be "god" and we are all clamouring forcing him/her/it to be "god". I also feel guilty using the inadequate word "god". It sounds so pejorative.

I find that so many other Jews doing the same. I know of friends who have done away with using the word "god" or "g~d" altogether but instead use words like the Creator or the Eternal.

# I would like to hear from other Jews their view on spelling "g~d".
# Is it practiced by Jews of other languages too? Like French, Russian, Hindi or Arabic.
# What about non alphabetic languages like Chinese?
# How is it written in Yiddish?
# When did the practice start?

This is for you to hear, each of you, and specifically you.

You are not a person, place or thing. You are not a noun to be defined. You are a verb.

You are constant motion, eternal energy, dancing with the flux of the universe... uninhibited by anything.

You are a god, limitless and infinite in your depth...

You are Pure Potential... if you want to be, so will you be.
