"Example: It was a felony crime for a black to marry a white in 28 states, and that was all the way up to the year 1968 when new civil rights bills took it down. Now you cant do citizen's arrests on such unions as in the past. However, it did remain illegal in Alabama for a black to marry a white all the way up until the year 2000. " - Imperial Klans of America

Ahh in the "land of the free"

It's funny how the bible belt, the most fundamentalist part of the country had a tendency of promoting such good Christian behavior like racism and lynchings.

I wonder if it's homosexuals they REALLY care about or is it a cover for anti-"misecegenation"

I never understood why fundies care so much about who strangers marry.

you know the fact that the prize of reading the bible and loving God will be
((((heaven)))) - that is just so unfair!

what if you are blind and deaf and retarded! you know , when the good Doctor told the Good Christian lady that the child will never be able to do anything when born - and sure enough the Good Dr Scientist was right and now , Johny is so retarded that he cant even keep his drooling in check!
and the good christian mommy and daddy took Johny to a group home to live the rest of his life (all of 15years) out in peace(right)! so Johny isn't able to worship the big guy in the sky!!!!!!!!!!!

what happens to little Johny ????? will he need to go to hell??????

was formed.

That's why women don't have to dress decently or wear head-scarves in church anymore...I tried pointing out that this practice only began in 1960 (not wearing head scarves in church), but she just kept going on about the veil in the temple being torn and a new covenant begin made. I wasn't entirely convinced. So, if the New Covenant was made 2000 years ago, yet women wore head scarves up until 1960,...what were all the other women (in history) doing wearing head scarves up to that point?

What the hell are the Ten Commandments for when all you have to do is believe in God. I mean seriously if you obide all of those except for the first one you will go to hell. BUT apprently being good has nothing to do with what happens to your soul. <<< direct quote from a yahoo user

Plz tell what you think these worthless words etched in stone are for... and what your opinion is

"God exists" = an assumption until it can be empirically verified
"God that exists is the Christian God"= an assumption based on another assumption. Remains an assumption until it can be empiracally verified

Fact= Human beings exist, airplanes exist, cockroaches exist etc.

Pretty tough huh?

Would you leave this world happy, knowing that everyone you loved knew it? Because you didn't waste a second in telling them.

We are both very flexible and open minded with our beliefs but want to find a denomination we can share together. It's not the label we are concerned about it's having a place to worship.

Firstly, Gays are born gay, they don't choose to be gay. No one would choose to be something that would make thier life harder than it already is. Just like hetrosexuals can't choose to be attracted to thier opposite sex, gays can't choose thier sexual preference either. Hetrosexuals don't choose to be turned-on by a naked girl and vise versa for gays.

That being said, how can someone be judged for being born a certain way? It's really funny how christians can compare homosexuality to theft, murdering, and etc.

There certainly are alot of christians out there who are gay, so what do you do? Do you go against your natural desire and decieve an innocent girl into marrying you? Isn't that even worst?

How can a person be condemned for loving another person just because that other person is of the same sex?

You christians sure have a very loving God, yeah right?

Christians seem to be ready to dump the entire OT and its laws because of a few words written by Paul (Rabbi Saul).....

All the while the desciples of Jesus strictly observed ALL THE JEWISH LAWS.

My boyfriend is half Taiwanese, half Italian. I'm Irish, so I'm "white." My grandparents are very old fashioned and, though they've never said anything overtly, I can tell that they don't approve of us dating because of our ethnic differences. They comment on how "different" we are and have even made snide remarks about my boyfriend's Taiwanese mother (not while he was there, thankfully). My boyfriend and my grandparents have met, but I'm afraid to bring him to family functions because of what they might say or do. It really hurts me that my grandparents, whom I do love, can be so racist.

I also know that, if we get married (it's looking more and more likely, we've been together almost two years), we won't be having a church wedding because I'm an Agnostic (which my grandparents don't know) and he's an Atheist. My grandparents are very religious and might raise a stink about it or refuse to come.

What should I do?

I hear the pastors at my mom's church going on all the time about being obedient to God and doing what He tells you...

So if your God came down to you and told you to jump off a very high bridge into the river below, would you do it?

........or information that's been vetted by christian organisations.

If you research the evidence for Jesus having ever existed, you'll find christian organisations putting forward stuff as evidence that has been comprehensively discredited by many other credible organisations.

A classic example is the supposed letter from Pilate to Tiberius about Christ, which even the Catholic church has declared to be a forgery.

Why do so many christians happily accept the bible as truth without researching it through independent sources?

Is it because they just WANT to believe?

Or are they afraid of what they might learn?

Is it all by God(s) doing, Satan (or any demons in general), or is it all made by humans?

It seems like many of the speakers had been to the Brownsmead Florida Revival that started years ago.
It seems that a bigger revival & continual shifting is going on.
And the Holy Spirit is being very active in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

What do you think about Daystar & TBN?

What do you think about the messages & anointing on the speakers/preachers, etc.?
