Life is the only way we can be. What is there besides life? Nothing? It's weird, and maybe cool, to think that there's nothing possible without life.

I found the meaning of life awhile ago while I flatlined twice during a coma while having a bonemarrow transplant. Live life one day at a time, and enjoy every minute of it. Happiness is the only thing you can leave this world with. Working hard won't get you anywhere but upset and disgruntled, schooling aside. It's all about having fun, and enjoying every moment you can. Enjoy it while you can, you may be hit by a drunk driver, or a plane may crash on your house tomorrow - you never know!

A good book to read about this is The Purpose Driven Life, What on Earth am I Here For? By Rick Warren

The reason we live is to shape this world into a better place, make a contribution to the society, make a difference in people's lives or create something. I see the world as a large canvas and we as the society are constantly repainting it, trying to make it into a more beautiful picture. We'll never achieve perfection and the world will always change for better and for worse but that's why it exists and it is our purpose in life to leave a brush stroke or two on that canvas.

The meaning of life to me is finding meaning in your own life. I heard a motto "begin everyday as if it were on purpose." That brings meaning to me. I have my fair share of days that are lazy and unproductive and I think that is fine. But for the most part I try to be productive in any sense of the word. I am happy with my life, so despite what has happened in my past or what will happen in my future, I feel I have tried to make the most of it and I think that is all we can be expected to do.

I think it was put best at the end of Monty Python's the Meaning of Life (a great movie by the way) by Michael Palin (introducing it by saying "It's nothing very special really"):

'Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.'

Well there are many people who like to think that your life should revolve around you. But the true reason why we are on this earth is to serve God. He created us, and that is why anyone whithout him sees life as pointless..or without a meaning...he is the only happiness, because he is the creator. We are here to serve him..and many people dont understand that..and its really sad i wish everyone could just see what they are missing out on! We need him to survive! And if you feel like there is no meaning, call out to him..because with him everything has meaning, life is no longer a routine....He should be your one and only priority. He put us on this earth..but everyone seems to have forgotten that..

A sense of freedom is the meaning of life. A chance to control what happens to you, for a temporary time.

That depends entirely on how you choose to look at it. From God's point of view, the meaning of life is so that we can choose him, we are not forced to love him, so the love is that much greater. From our point of view, I guess because I'm a christian, the purpose for my existence is to love God and to lead others to him.
