Faith genrally has a positive effect on the mind . it is he mind ht is responsile for the actions of man. the brain is guided by the senses . if he aithis based on facs ,it works positively. if he faithis based on misuidance of senses , its effect happens to be negative though the behaviour of the man is positive and bold .
It is this sort of situation that applies to the man who belives that some girl who really loves somebody else ,does love him .The man's mind is clouded by his desire /greed and he fails to see the reality .

I can think of many instances where just taking something on faith is or could be damaging. I used to work in a hospital and I saw parents refuse transfusions for a child based on faith in their God and religion. I have seen many people selling religious based "cures" which people take on faith rather than seeking appropriate medical treatment. This endangers their health. I see people refusing to education themselves or accept reality when it contradicts what their religion tells them because they must have faith in what they believe their holy texts tells them. This is damaging to societies when it is prevalent as it holds the society back. I dive and I prefer to not have faith that someone filled my airtank, I check it along with my equipment before I go under. In general I think just taking things on faith is not that great an idea although we are sometimes in situations where we must trust. I think it is always a good idea to consider the facts and evidence and if they contradict your "faith" to reconsider.

Faith is believing in something despite evidence to the contrary (or no evidence at all). Yes, it's very bad a lot of the time. People have faith in things they wish for (like faith in a person that is unreliable). The men flying the planes into the world trade center had "faith" in a wrong purpose. Parents deny their children medical care due to their faith.

Prophet John that is the longest post I have ever seen that said absolutely nothing. p.s. learn to form paragraphs, as well as saying nothing it was painful to read.
Of course faith has negative consecences. Do you think an atheist has ever suicide bombed anything, ever? No that takes faith. It took faith and the spread of it to fuel the various crusades and conquests that history has recorded. There have been many other valid reasons given above so I won' bother to repeat them all.

I have a story about faith that could be considered "damaging." Several friends of mine and my husband's have come back from Iraq with stories of Iraqis walking out in the middle of gunfights, thinking that Allah will protect them, and if He doesn't, then it's okay.
Of course they've all died. I would say that's pretty damaging.

You are right, you have faith in you, in your ability to do something you can achieve it.
Extreme faith like not going to doctor when you are sick is damaging, it can damage part of you are can kill you

Faith in God is always a good thing...
It is better to trust the Lord than to put your faith in men.
People will always let you down (they are human), but God is always faithful.
