Expressing disagreement, or voicing concern, or even noting disapproval are different from speaking hatred. Sometimes the posts here in Yahoo Answers R&S are hateful. What happens for you when you see hate enacted? And how do you work with your feelings that come up?

I avoid them, do not respond. There is no place to go, no sense or reason to be had.
Expressing hate creates a reaction in the neural net pathways in the brain, that triggers a chemical cascade that gives the "hater" a fix. It is an addiction, as sure as heroin is. That's science, not opinion. So really, offering even a brilliant argument just gives food to the fire - they are on a tear, and cannot physically think clearly.

For myself, I get angry and feel hateful feelings pass through me - I get really crazy when I'm driving..... I feel them, and then let them dissipate, without acting them out. To have them happens to most of us, it is the decision to either act them out, or view them honestly, that makes the difference. Acting them out further impresses them into the neural pathways, holding them in place as "truth". Which is relative. Viewing them honestly leads to self realization.

i hate my obnoxious younger brother ever since we were kids.(he's ugly for a reason). just recently i saw him hurting my pet w/o reason & i was so furious i hit him on the face. since i was weaker i received worse of the bargain.all i can do was throw curses at him. i'm so fed up w/ he's displaying annoying disgusting behavior w/c he secretly enjoys. he always gets away w/ my parents because he's giving them money (small amount). i don't know how much long i can handle this. im soo disgusted with him to the point that dont want to touch anything he touches.i have to wash my hands or cover them w/ plastic. there are some people out there who won't give up being nasty.

Its not my feelings or yours that matter. WE arent to take the bait of offense, that is from satan, which makes us feel things and react in a bad way. Thats not how Jesus did it, and we arent to do it either. We are to respond to hate with love, as Jesus did, but still speak truth in love and boldness, without fear or compromise, just as Jesus did that too. great question. Love and truth are what will change the world, as it is the way of the Lord. Hatred and lies lead to sin and death.

Sometimes I will answer back in like. But for the most part I try to ignore it. They have the problem, not me.

I just love how people blame Satan for what they do!

It makes me sad when I see insults thrown between those who have different beliefs. Voicing concern or disagreeing in a civil manner is one thing, but being rude and offensive is completely different. However, I don't fight fire with fire. Christ says we are to pray for those who persecute us, so I do my best to apply this to my life.

"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

You're not going to get anywhere by responding to it. In fact, in doing so is encouraging it.
Just ignore those "questions."

I walk away from R&S and remind myself that the opinions of others really do not matter.
