What is God's relation to us?
What are God's physical attributes?
What is God's nature, personality and temperament?

Please don't give vague fluffy answers like "He's everywhere and nowhere" or "He's big enough to fill the universe but small enough to dwell in your heart." Also, if you don't believe in God this question doesn't apply to you. Find one that does.

This is a man who claimed that his father was a god.

He performed 'miracles' : he was responsible for causing the river nile to flood year after year, over his entire time on earth he must have saved literally millions of people from starvation

He single handedly slew 20,000 enemy warriors and turned a rout into a great victory by his divine intervention.

This man was called ramesses, and we know about his exploits because his friends and followers wrote this remarkable storey down, and sent it all over the known world.

He was born circa 1303BC, and is referenced by many other historians and historical sources. His existence is historical fact.

Now that you know of this great man, who himself was revealed to be a god upon his death, you can worship him appropriately. Right?

:
"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

the same as believing in witches or the boogie man??? i don't see the difference..

both seem just as unrealistic as the other. what makes the boogie man more fictional.. if i told everyone to have complete faith that there were boogie men under peoples beds at night everyone could call me a douche.

but then i would say " i have complete faith in the boogie man, i know he is real. if you have complete faith and pretend REALLY HARD you will see how real he is"

isnt that the same as religious faith.

what about the same question but i thought big bird from sesamy street was god. whats the dufference?

For us that voted for Pres. Bush and all the innocents soldiers, and all the innocent ones that went to war in the Middle east; that got killed and their blood flowing on the ground. Does that mean we too are guilty of blood stains on our hands? Now a higher %tage of people are saying that Bush had his own personal motives to go to war. For his self gratification like as of revenge for them trying to kill his dad; or because of the oil. Please be serious about this crime under God because now I am worried.

Just curious. That's how I think at times and i was just wondering what others thought about it.

I'm not in this for the points. I'm just trying to share knowledge and answer questions to the best of my ability.

Does anyone else get frustrated when you spend a long time writing and researching an answer that is thoughtful and insightful with careful documentation to back up your points - only to lose out to someone whose answer consists of a terse "I agree". What's up with that?

It's especially baffling when your answer also agreed with the questioner. Are they just picking their friends' answers? Are they point-gaming and picking their own answer (by using multiple avatars)? Or are my answers too darn long for people's attention span? Just curious if anyone else can relate.

I've heard that Christians have a higher divorce rate than among atheists, that more crimes are committed by believers (percentage wise), etc.

Is it because most people who call themselves "Christians" aren't really committed to living the way the bible intended?

Leviticus 20:22 - God tells the Jewish people that if they did not keep his rules, he would vomit them out. And they did not keep his rules.

Matthew 21:42 & 43 - The Jewish people reject the conerstone and the kingdom of God was taken away.

Romans 9: 6-8 - Not all who are descended from israel are Israel. It is not ethnic Jews who are the children of God, but the children of the promise."

first let my state that i feel very strongly about the Mormon "Religion"...
but that is mostly irrelivant here.

So my wifes father owns an Antique Gallery. He just got this book that is circa 1880.. on the cover of it is an etching, or indent, of a Mormon Church. On top of it was a big cross..

Now im under the impression that for some reason LDS dont aknowledge the cross.. on all of there temples they have a big stupid golden statue of Moroni-(btw, what ever happened to "Thou shalt not have any graven idols before me?)

So at what point did they turn away from the cross?

i know that they are really good about getting visions from god when they have to change something.. it seems to happen alot in there favor ironically. Like the Poligamy thing. they would be prosecuted if not.. and WHOA!! A Vision from god!

Neways. at what point and for what reason did they turn away from the cross?

P.s. that book sells for $200 on amazon. how bout that for expensive CRAP!

I see that with adults too. They feel violence is not violence if it is only words but they can hurt just as much as a smack on the bottom but, most of the time they are like a slap in the face. Way more demeaning I think. What's your opinion? Should the violence of words be included in the "sparring the rod" question

Many people, claiming to be Christian, quote from the old testament - something I've never understood :|
Every so often one of them tries to convert me...
I refuse, citing a passage from Leviticus (21:20 methinks, but I'm probably wrong) that clearly says anyone with a blemish in their eye is not allowed to approach/worship at the alter of god

now... I'm as blind as a bat without my glasses (bit of a blemish), but, if evangelicals take the bible as literal truth, why do they keep trying to convert me?

My glasses are pretty bloody big, btw ;)
