I just posted a question about if people would break the 6th comandment to put someone out of thier misery and this is one of the responses I got:
"A person's life force comes from God. When God is ready for that person to die, then He will take him. We should do nothing to "send him home" before his time"

And not to pick on this person in anyway (as I got some similar to this) but I can not understand the rational in God allowing someone to suffer something like Alzhiemers, post stroke symptoms that leave the person totally bed bound and contracted having to bed fed with a g-tube, advanced ALS or Parkinsons. I used to work in a nursing home and would see this all the time, people totally bed bound yet still around for years. I am not questioning the cause of these things or if God caused them yet the rational explanation as to why God would continue to allow these people to suffer and not just bring them "home".

Shakespeare would have been 46 years at the time. In Psalm 46, the 46th word from the first word is Shake and the 46th word from the last word in Psalm 46 is Spear. Coincidence?
No one knows for sure! What do you think?

Apparently from my last question, I don't know atheists or what they are about. So you know what. WHat are you atheists all about? I need to ask you guys several questions. What created you? Your mom and dad did but who created them? and so on and so on. Who created the universe? Who created the Big Bang. Who created science? Who created everything and nothing? How far can atheists go into answering these questions? sure atheists will have answers to these questions like the universe was created by the big bang but then ask yourselves who created the big bang. It goes on forever but science can't explain everything. There must have been an ultimate creator who created all these things. if you disagree then explain everything.

Sounds like it was invented by man to keep people in line. Can you see this religious people? Or do you refuse to?Strange how something you thnk is so true has to be taught with scare tactics. I don't remember any scientists threatening to send me to eternal hell for refusing to believe in the theory of gravity.

One of my questions refered to the book of Proverbs. One of the answers given was "How could Jesus have *anything* to do with the book of Proverbs? It was written LONG before he lived."

I'm confused; Is everything in the Bible viewed as the word of God/Jesus? Including the book of Proverbs?

There are numerous incidents of learned sincere men of other faiths embracing Islam while not a single person who understood Islam leaves it. No one can show a sincere scholar of Islam forsaking his religion for other religion, while we hear Priests and Rabbis accepting Islam. Some one will say because they fear death. Where on earth can death be applied, may be in Saudi Arabia or Iran. What about Muslims in the west or in a democratic country as India where one is free to practice anything.

Thou shall not murder?
I ask because I tell my hubby all the time if I get some debiliating disease just put a pillow over my head and kill me.
This question is about assisted sucide sort of but more in the essence of would you actually kill that person to put them out of their misery.

Maybe, atheists do believe in God. They say they don't and they tell us they believe in no god, but there it is. Maybe that is their God. Having no God is their god. So they may say they don't believe in God , but everytime they say that they also admit they BELIEVE in no god.

I would like to ask Christians and Jews a few questions for research...

1.) Where in the Bible might I find the verse that states something like "Thou shalt not suffer a witch"? Is this there something similar in the Jewish religious book, if so what does it say specifically?

2.) Will someone explain to me the concept of the "confessional" in detail, why is it done, what does confession accomplish, how often is it to be done and so on.

3.) What is the definition of "sin" according to the Bible or Koran or Torah? And what are the "Seven deadly sins"?

4.) What is the concept of forgiveness according to Christianity and Jews, from God? Meaning, if you ask for it, even with your dying breath will it be granted, if you are honest in your asking?

I know that this is several questions in one, but I hope that for the sake of someone asking to honestly know and better understand, that you will take the time to answer these in detail/depth. Thanks for your time and honest effort

Question: I understand that marriage between a member and an apostate is discouraged, and thanks to my last question I understand why, but is dating an apostate also discouraged? Would this cause problems between the member and her family? What if the apostate were open to possible conversion?

Background: I’ve met the most amazing lady. She is intelligent, beautiful, yet humble and very enjoyable to talk to. We have spoken to each other many times, each time a little more in depth. On one occasion she told me that she is Mormon or LDS and asked what my faith is. This stuck in my head because I can sense that she is very religious and I am not. I believe in or at least acknowledge that God exists and that we should all be good to one another and live by a code of moral values. Even though it is obvious that there is strong chemistry between us, I have been reluctant to ask her out. I believe that anyone I date could potentially become a serious relationship and perhaps even lead to marriage, so therefore I am very selective of who I date. She exceeds every criterion I have by a mile! The only area of concern for me is that I wouldn’t want her to jeopardize her relationship with her family or compromise her religious values. I know there are many silly questions asked on this forum, but this isn’t one of them. Thank you in advance to all who give me a thoughtful answer.

I was raised Christian and was a very active member of the Church. I accepted Christianity as it was pretty much all I knew. As I got older I became skeptical and at times distraught by teachings of the Church, so I went to the Bible for guidance. What the Bible taught me was that Christian theology is an interpretation of the Bible. I am now non-religious. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Here is a link to question I previously asked about interpretations of the Bible.
