Shakespeare would have been 46 years at the time. In Psalm 46, the 46th word from the first word is Shake and the 46th word from the last word in Psalm 46 is Spear. Coincidence?
No one knows for sure! What do you think?

I have read that WS contributed to the Psalms, yes. Many writers in London are said to have scribbled this and that for the KJV. It was a 'rush' job, the English were hot to trot for a new, readable Bible. For 54 of my years I have been a Shakespearean actor, a professional actor, which means I ain't cheap, dear heart, and of course anything about the life and work of my main man Will is of keen interest to me. Thanks for given the life and times of WS some light here. It's rare. And so, no doubt, are you.

The KJV was first published in 1611 and Shakespeare was born in 1564, which means he was 47 when the KJV was published (and 46 when translated?).

As you say, the 46th word of Psalms 46 is indeed "shake." Unfortunately, counting backwards from the end, "spear" is the 47th word. (I counted 4 times to be certain.) Strangely, the last word isn't English: "Se'lah." Could it be that some KJV Bibles include that word and others don't?

Anyway, a very interesting new factoid to ponder.... Thanks.

No, this is an old urban legend. Although the KJ version of the Bible was written around the same time as Shakespear.
I am sure if I search through the characters enough, and in the right order, I could prove that I wrote the Bible, and hid a code in it to prove it.

i do no longer think of Shakespeare grew to become right into a extreme Christian, and his centers could've been very costly, so this "concept" seems groundless. Shall I evaluate it to the "concept" which you beat your puppy?!? i could no longer spit our the be conscious 'spouse', so I suggested 'puppy', so no you may still take me heavily. i'm no longer even particular that he wrote his own performs. He could have paid Sir Baron Verulam to be his ghost author (a extra well-known concept than yours) and in simple terms positioned his call on them. No reason to care who interprets the Bible, as long as this is a real translation (which JW version of bible isn't). i do no longer think of he grew to become into in contact. Shakespeare grew to become into no longer a bible pupil NOR a translator, so why could this wealthy guy be employed?!? I on no account heard that hypothesis in the previous. yet many extreme Shakespeare "professionals" question regardless of if he fairly wrote the performs he took credit for! i would not care if it grew to become into authentic. God is his decide, no longer me.
