One of my questions refered to the book of Proverbs. One of the answers given was "How could Jesus have *anything* to do with the book of Proverbs? It was written LONG before he lived."

I'm confused; Is everything in the Bible viewed as the word of God/Jesus? Including the book of Proverbs?

The New Testament is a TOTAL fulfillment of the Old Testament since every word of the Old Testament can be related to Jesus and His 12 Disciples.

The Proverbs were written by King Solomon who received his wisdom by simply praying to God/Jesus ans receiving it.

Jesus spoke to Moses in the Burning Bush when He told Moses that God was the God of the living and not the dead - meaning that the Patriarchs (Abraham, Issac and Jacob) were alive as spirits in heaven rather than dead bodies in graves.

Jesus was the pillar of fire by night and the cloud which led the Hebrews out of Egypt.

Jesus, as the tree of life, knew that Adam & Eve had sinned even as Adam pathetically tried to hide himself from God/Jesus as he walked in Paradise.

Some insist that the bible is the word of god who worked through various writers. Jesus himself never wrote anything. The Roman established a council that picked and choose which christian writings and letter to put in the NT as "gospels" That established the Roman Catholic Church. Before that there was no new testiment.

The Old Testament was altered to better suit the NT. The Jewish Torah is very different than the OT of the bible, though many xtias will deny this. The more you study the history of the early church, the more you realize that the bible is a book written by men to serve political need.

There is no historical evidence to suggest Jesus was anything more than a story told by the fledgling religion that later became christianity.

Jesus was God in the flesh. The Bible is the book of God. The entire Old Testament, including the book of proverbs was written before Jesus' time. However, God did say he would come in the flesh. It is at this time that the New Testament starts.

Yes, the entire Bible is the word of God/Jesus. Written by men who were filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking for God.

Every word in the Bible is certainly not proclamation or declarations by God. Here are some examples: Some of the words of Balam, Balak, Satan and many writers are commentaries and not God's words. Some are illustrative or explanations of the main characters by the writers.
The book of Proverbs Chapter 8 , as does many of other chapters , clearly pointed to Jesus Christ. You will need a deep insight to understand this. If you need more explanations, you can contact me via www.supreme-word.com.

I see a lot of opinion in some of these answers and only a few that use scripture to verify scripture. Your best answer will come from your own study of scriptures. There is no better way to know about the Bible or any book for that matter, than to read and study it for yourself. That said, I can concur with the answer that did give scriptural reference in 2 Timothy 2 verse 15. Always keep and open heart and mind, remembering that human truth is subjective, and no one person or group or religion has the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Humans cannot contain and know what they did not create...God is the author of life.

Yes, EVERYTHING written in the Bible is the Word of God without error. If you do not have your very own copy, I will send you free if you will e-mail me. From Genesis to Revelation the theme of the Bible is the Lord Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation for man. Yes, the Old Testament was written before Christ came to Earth but not before Christ existed. He is the eternal Son of God.
For those who would say the Bible is not the Word of God, or that the Bible contains numerous errors I would say this: Paul could say in 2nd Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God." That's the Greek word, "theopneustos" meaning "God-Breathed." Every single word was given from God to 40 different men, and 2nd Peter 1:21 adds: "for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." Now that was the Old Testament. The New Testament wasn't in existence when Paul used these verses. He was telling the churches in his letters what had happened in the past, but in John 16:12-13, Jesus talked about the coming of the New Testament. He says, "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come."
That's the New Testamant. And we can say with John 17:17, "Your Word is Truth." Today, we have 66 books written by 40 different individuals on 3 continents covering a period of 1,500 years and there's not one mistake, regardless of what some of the critics say. They haven't studied God's Word enough to know the truth. Among the writers we had kings, poets, philosophers, prophets, scholars and fisherman. And I want you to know we have all of the Word of God today. Someone says, "Yes, but we don't have the original manuscripts" Who said so?
We have copies totalling 24,800. Now, how do we know that they're right? Well, if you take 20 items and you compare them and 19 state one thing and one doesn't, then the one is in error. We've got 24,800 manuscripts that exist today to compare one against another and we have another 80,000 quotations from the church fathers, enough to put the entire Bible together with the exception of 11 verses. Take the 80,000 quotations from the church fathers and the 24,800 manuscripts for a total of 104,800 and you have all of God's Word dozens and hundreds of times. This is so because God's Word is literally flawless. After computers have compared millions, or even billions, of letters in analyzing the 104,800 manuscripts the texts are basically flawless. So, don't listen to the critics.

Because Christians have gone from Jesus being a man, to a man that was the son of G-d, to being G-d Himself. I don't know how they could have made that jump. but there you are. Therefore, if Proverbs are G-d's words then they are so obviously Jesus' words too. Go figure.

It depends on who you talk to. Most Christians believe the Word of God is in the Bible, but the Bible is not the Word of God because the Spirit is the essence of the Word, not the book, its concepts, ideas or words.

the entire Bible is the infallible be responsive to God. while examine properly, the previous and new testaments compliment one yet another relatively correct. Psalms as you pronounced is a suitable occasion of individuals being inspired with the aid of God and the author positioned his praises down in words. Corinthians is yet another great occasion given it relatively is a letter from Paul with regard to the individuals of Corinth and the thank you to be Christ like. which continues to be proper in the present day. only save analyzing it and bigger expertise will incorporate guidence from the Holy Spirit. God bless.

The Bible is God's Word, but you must read it in context.

Remember that Jesus is the Creator. So way back in Genesis 1:1 when it says, "In the beginning God", that was referring to Jesus, before he was born to Mary.

If you read John chapter 8, the leaders of the Jewish religion, duing the time of Jesus, didn't understand that either.

But Jesus told them plainly, "Before Abrahm was, I am".

John 8:58.

Jesus is God and He always existed. Jesus did not make His first appearance when He was born to Mary.

I'm sorry the church you were raised in never made that clear to you.
