Absolutely disagree. When your beliefs violate what I consider to be basic human morality, I absolutely have a right and obligation to disrespect them.
For example, female circumcision is believed by some to be right and necessary. I disrespectfully disagree with those people. The notion that it is right to kill all heathens (whether held by an islamic adherent or a christian fanatic) is something I would disrespectfully disagree with.

I find every sect, as far as reason will help them, make use of it gladly; and where it fails them, they cry out, it is a matter of faith, and above reason.
— John Locke (1632-1704)
Among the more irritating consequences of our flagrantly religious society is the special dispensation that mainstream religions receive. We all may talk about religion as a powerful social force, but unlike other similarly powerful institutions, religion is not to be questioned, criticized or mocked.
— Natalie Angier
If a person holds irrational ideas and insists that others should accept them because of their authoritative source, he should never agree to be questioned about them.
— Ray Ginger
There must be no barriers to freedom of inquiry. There is no place for dogma in science. The scientist is free, and must be free to ask any question, to doubt any assertion, to seek for any evidence, to correct any errors.
— Robert Oppenheimer, (1902-1967)
If you want to get your soul to heaven,
trust in me.
Don't judge or question.
You are broken now,
but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
— Maynard James Keenan
Is it not better to place a question mark upon a problem while seeking an answer than to put the label "God" there and consider the matter closed?
— Joseph Lewis, (1889-1968)
God is a sound people make when they're too tired to think anymore.
— Edward Abbey
Faith is an absolutely marvelous tool. With faith there is no question too big for even the smallest mind.
— Rev. Donald Morgan

I will respect the beliefs of any person as long as no one is getting hurt. However, I do not respect the people who insist on shoving their beliefs down my throat. Everyone is entitled to their ideas and beliefs, but they must also respect that I may not have those same beliefs and that I am not wrong or a bad person because of it.

Two part response. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Everyone is entitled to express their opinion. That doesn't mean others have to agree with that opinion, sit around listening to it, or give it any respect. People who say I can't criticize their view because it shows a lack of respect for their opinion don't understand that they are hypocrites- saying that shows a lack of respect for my critical opinion.
That being said, just because I can respond any way I want to another's opinion doesn't mean I should. I can be needlessly cruel, but should I? Is a savage response an effective criticism? Are people going to listen to and respect my views If I'm meanspirited in how I present them? Frankly, these aren't purely rhetorical questions. Sometimes the answer is is yes, but rarely.

I have to respect you as a person, in spite of any false beliefs you might hold. I also have to respect your right to hold those beliefs. But I do not have to respect the beliefs themselves when I know them to be false.

I saw someone respond to a question this morning, basically saying, "how can you say that? I respect your beliefs, now STFU!"
Wasted a perfectly good mouthful of coffee...

I think that because belief has, at least in the United States, merged its way into politics, it's up for public criticism.

people should be able to say whatever they feel/want. that is what needs to be respected. not everyone is going to agree with you, and that's ok. just don't take a disagreement as an attack.

everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just because "that" is not what you happen to believe in, it doesn't make it wrong.
