I find us to be sensible people. I've also found that Atheists rarely show up to your doorstep without an invitation, and when they greet you at your door, they aren't babbling some nonsense about a mystical sky pixie. They stay out of our schools--
(Note! For those about to call bullshit on this statement, here's my reasoning. We aren't trying to add the words, "Under NO God" in the Pledge of Alliegence. Christians were the ones who added, "Under God" in the 1950s, against the wishes of the families of the original author. Teaching evolution instead of creationism is because there's actually *gasp!* PROOF backing up evolution, while none exists for creationism. Ergo, Atheists are keeping out of schools.)
-- as well as our laws. They might drink up all the beer, but other than that are rather polite and ethical people. Plus they're always around if you need a favor on Sunday!

I'm a Christian, and I think some of you are better people than some Christians I know who go to church but who do not practice what they preach.
I told a good friend of mine who is an atheist that he's a better Christian than some Christians I know.
The same goes for agnostics.
I am a pretty cool person, I think.
The fundies give us a bad name.
Have a happy day, and thank you for asking this question. I hope you'll get great replies.

I am also an atheist. I don't think it matters what you believe or don't believe, there is always someone who will look down on you for it. It's like being looked down on for being christian or being muslim. There is always going to be that a**hole who will tell you you're wrong. If you are a good person who tries to follow the law, and you're not hurting anybody, then who or what you do or don't worship should not matter. Besides, if "God" teaches tolerance, than religious people are being hypocrites for frowning on you.

Although I am one, I do not think about them that often.
Athiest describes something about me, much like blonde and nearsighted. It describes about exactly as much about others who use the term for themself.
Forming any other impression just from the one feature makes no more sense than it would with race, gender, or any other characteristic.
As an example, most athiests are very liberal politically. I'm so ULTRA conservative I make Rush Limbaugh look like Michael Moore (actually, don't they already).

There's nothing really wrong with it. Tolerance is the key, just as long as people are sticking to what they believe and also are respectful to others, it doesn't matter what your religion is really, or even if you don't have one, humanity is the key. I am a Muslim so it's my job to be respectful to everyone whether they like me or not. I also have friends who are atheist, but they are respectful to my belief and I am of what they are. Some of my friends even fast with me during Ramadan. Just goes to show you, It's not necessary to let one rotten apple ruin all the rest; and we should never judge a whole faith, or race of people based on the ignorance of one person.

I make my Decisions on How People SPEAK and ACT etc.. One Person at a Time.
So far, I have nothing to say Against Atheist.
Most here have been very Intelligent and Nice.
I SEE two kinds of People nowadays.
LOST and SAVED
Your one or the other.
That is how I ended up! That is how I see things now.
Other than that, I WILL Protect Myself if ATTACKED !!!

Probably a cultural hangover, people always had a religion due to its prominance in the past.
Change seems to be frowned upon these days, yet change is what makes our lives so spectacularly exciting!

I think we rock. We are among the few people in the world that can tackle deep philosophical questions without resorting to superstition and myth. Or minds are free.
