Well, for me, no to Cigarettes, tats and booze. The Law towards foods, as it applies in the OT, was for the safety of the children of Israel. The Law for Pork and shellfish being 'unclean', refers to the fact that shellfish and pork both contain stuff that, if improperly cooked, would give the eater a health problem, primarily salmonella. Since the methods of cooking in OT days were generally over open spit, the people could not get it done all the way through. Diarrhea was an incurable thing, and greatly feared in OT days, as it caused deaths. There was no way to stop it. Can you imagine pooping yourself to death?
Laws are all made for a reason. It is important to look at the reasons behind WHY a law was made, rather than blindly following. Think of it this way... In South Carolina, if you don't tie off your horse when you go into town, you will be subject to a $7 fine. Stupid law, right? Point is, laws become obsolete as technologies advance, and understandings of how things work get more advanced. If you look at the reasons for laws to be in existence, you will find that they were instituted because of some major mishap, or bad event that took place, and is related to said event.
Hope this helps...

The Book of Leviticus details the Mosaic Law, which applied to Jews under the Old Covenant. Christians live under the New Covenant, where "the works of the law" do not govern our actions.
Personally, I don't defile my body with cigarettes, and I have no desire to have pictures drawn on my body, but I certainly enjoy a shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, roast pork, and a glass of wine.
