When he is fair, he leaves enough for others.
When he is humble, he can grow. --Lao-Tzu

Do you think it's odd how some Christians feel like mentioning Hell when they find out that you are an atheist?

I know not all Christians are like this, but they would never do that if you were a Hindu, a Muslim, or a Jew. According to what alot of Christians believe you will go to Hell forever if you are not a Christian, yet they would never warn someone about Hell if you were a Hindu or a Muslim. It's like there is a double standard for how some people treat atheists.

This actually happened to my sister and I know that the lady that mentioned this was only doing it in an effort to help her, but I can't help but be struck at how this wasn't because she wasn't a Christian per se, it was specifically because she didn't believe in any type of a god.

That yet the U.S. Constitution does not mention a creator or God, but over 45 States, Guam, and Puerto Rico's Constitutions do in fact mention a creator?

More than half using God or Almighty God?

http://www.usconstitution.net/states_god.html

You have to remember from history class that while the U.S. constitution was written without any mention of a creator people didn't really care for a National Government, Most where only concerned with "States Rights" thats why states had their own currency and didn't uphold other states laws at the birth of our nation.

Any thought to why almost every state and territory besides (I believe) America Samoa and West Virginia mentions a creator or a God?

After checking my profile I found a bunch of people blocked, I know that I blocked the WSIDR but I only remember blocking one other person that seemed to be a troll.
AS for all the rest, I guess I have to be a man and claim responsibility, even though it was really negligence.
I have this brother Jim, who is perpetually looking for a job, (or a bottle) and I allowed hin to use my computor. Anyway, yoi people are smart, you can figure out the rest. The thing is, JIm isn't stupid! He was the smartest kid in the class. He just got mixed up with the wrong crowd, and he's having trouble seeing that he has to severe ties with those people who do not care about his future.
Any suggestions on how to deal with him?
I don't give him money, are a place to "crash", just let him use the phone somtimes, (anmd apparently he jumps on the computor).

A good part of today's wars are religious-inspired.

Would there logically be less war if religion was never a factor or motive?
Would 9/11 have happened?
Would there be any war at all in the Middle East?

Mind you I said LESS. I didn't say NO war.

I'm just wondering what makes christians think that non-christians spend their lives in "sinnful pleasures".

That seems rather presumptuous to think that you know anything about the non-christian person's life, doesn't it?

This'll probably get deleted, but who the hell cares, right?

A lot of people responded to my last question (which was a joke, by the by) by saying that it was my fault for getting fired and obviously, I was a lazy, awful worker. This is not true, and frankly, in the p.o.ed state I'm already in, this makes me even more angry. So I'll attempt to defend myself, when I usually wouldn't bother.

I got fired for coming in to work today no more then five minuets late. I walked in, the manager on duty told me it was "unacceptable," then fired me. I'd been a hard, competent worker up until that point. Other managers often praised me for my hard work and dedication to the restaurant. I seriously have no idea why they would fire me over such a small thing, and it makes me really angry.

So there you have it. My humble defense. I know some of you will not believe me, but I know I'm telling the truth, and that's all that matters to me.

Countdown to deletion starting... now.

How did the universe come to be to you? there is a lot of talk about the BIG BANG theory (sorry for the typo in the last one) particles which are matter were here expanded along with energy that helped it (sorry i said explosion in the last one) were did that matter come from since MATTER can't just appear (because scientists proved that) people said God made it (which I believe) but others said, 'where did God come from.' God isn't matter. I think energy was always here but matter isn't energy (as one said matter and enery are two different things.) so what do believers and non-believers think our universe came to be?

Your existence is evidence of the existence of Adam and Eve, or let us say the first two human beings. You did not see Adam and Eve, but you believe that they existed.

To make it more clear: You came through your parents. Your parents came through their parents, and your grandparents came through their parents, and so on. You may continue going back until you reach Adam and Eve. If you deny the existence of the first two human beings, you would be eliminating the first generation of their children. By eliminating the first generation, you eliminate the second and what is beyond it. Finally, you have to eliminate your own parents. Then you have to eliminate yourself. But you say to yourself: I cannot do that because I am here. Then you have to say: Adam and Eve were there. And you are the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve, regardless of the story of creation right?

the DOI= Declaration of Independence

how do you feel about the statement in it that "all men are endowed by their Creator..."?

I understand the debate of weather or not the United States was founded by religious people, but if most founders of that day did not believed in a deity or some sort of creator (such as God) and wanted separation from any religion then why add it in the Declaration of Independence?

thoughts please and thank you =)

Scoffers...
I have noticed since becoming a Christian (Bible believer: unfortunately we need to make it clear what KIND of Christian) how ANGRY atheists/evolutionists get... I mean just look at this religion group, there are a ton of them.
Their anger at Christ PROVES the Bible true... I can stand in the market and talk loudly about Native spirituality, no one cares, I can preach anything and it is widely accepted. But I mention the name of Christ, and immediately people hate and scoff and get angry!!! And the preaching is that Christ DIED FOR you... why would anyone be mad at the thought of GOD dying FOR you so YOU could go to heaven? It is kinda neat to see the Bible proved through all of you. Truly and honestly ... thank you.
But I do wish you would just hear out the Gospel Don't get so angry, Christ died for YOU. But the Bible does say thay will hate you for my name's sake. So I will not read the immature retorts... take care draw near to God and He will draw near to you

I did a "contact an old friend spell" about a week ago and ever since someone has been calling a couple of times a day and hanging up. That never used to happen before. I think my spell may have worked, but the person on the phone doesn't say anything so I don't know for sure.

And I don't have caller ID or call return by the way. If I did I'd knew where the # was coming from, I wouldn't be asking!

1. A consensual 3some involving me, my live-in male partner, and some chick we think is hot.

2. A consensual "3some" involving me, my live-in male partner, and a vibrator.

Would your views on either of these activites change if I am married to my male partner?

And what is the difference in the vibrator and the 2nd female? Other than the obvious.

James 2:14 "Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? 15 If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, 16 yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it? 17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself."

Someone asked if Adam was created immortal, which of course he wasn't according to the next excerpt.
"Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"
Genesis 3:22

Then why the heck did 90% of theists in this question said he was immortal? haven't they read the god damn bible?
