I'm just wondering what makes christians think that non-christians spend their lives in "sinnful pleasures".

That seems rather presumptuous to think that you know anything about the non-christian person's life, doesn't it?

I agree.. I don't see another relgious group comitting more sins then them. Practically all the Christians I know (not even exaggerating) drink or have drank, many have premarital sex, most disobey their parents and become rebel-like, some do drugs, many shoplift/have shoplifted, and most don't even go to or care about Church, or go because they are "forced" to (in other words never want to go to Church, and if they had the choice they would NOT go).

But, the Christians have dominated America. So virtually noo ne can make a statement about a large portion of its followers not being true Christians. I also think the theory that Jesus died for everyone and will forgive their sins contribute to the motive of why Christians do this stuff.

Doesn't so many cases of this show that Christianity is a weak faith? There are very few true followers, and almost all others I know who are non-Christian at least try to follow their religion. Many Christians don't even make an effort, unless, lets say Christmas time rolls around...

As a Christian, I don't like to judge people's behavior. However, we Christians often see the world in a different way, as imperfect and sometimes sin-filled. I also see a lot of people who, by the bibles definition, are quite happy to do things that destroy their soul and are selfish and arrogant.

Still,To assume that all non-believers are participating in sinful pleasures is besides the point- "ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" includes me. It would be equally obnoxious to make an assumption about all Christians because of a few: I get the whole " So you all hate Gays, right?" more times then I care to yell about.

If the person who told you this is a Christian, then I'm afraid he has a really negative view of God's grace!

Because we understand the world empathetically due to our neurophysiology (mirror neurons). My guess is that they see themselves (christians) in our shoes (non-christians) and since they partake of many "sinful pleasures" and then silently repent once a week and we do not, we are still wallowing in our sins in their eyes.

There is a great deal of truth behind the idea that you hate most about others what you hate most about yourself. Check out the wikipedia entry on mirror neurons and you may get a better neurophilisophical idea of what I mean.

There are millions of Christians in the world, and it is an over-generalization to assume that we all think like the TV evangelist guys. Especially the ones like Swaggart who get caught with hookers.

Most of us Christians try to live our own lives cleanly and decently, in a way that pleases the Lord.

For my part, I have a full time job looking after my own sins and shortcomings. When I've taken care of all that (which will be never) then I will worry about the shortcomings of others--be they Christian or not.

Sounds like you've been bit by some bad Christians. We are all sinners... no one is faultless... that's why Christ's sacrifice was made. The apostle Paul told Christians they have no right to judge those who are not a part of the church.
1 Corinthians 5:12.

My brother is christian, he was known around town as the biggest man-whore. Funny how now that he's married, no longer a man-whore, that he'd probably look down on someone else doing the same thing.

all people have some tinge of sin in the best of their choices because we have fallen natures

however...God send an angel to the non Christian Carnelius .. in the book of acts who told Cornelius that Cornelius good works have risen as a memorial to God... so... brab brushing that everything is evil is not true..

nothing is perfectly pure in motive.. not purely for the glory of God... my position is more that people's choices are tinged with sin and they need a grace and nercy form God to change their hearts

some Christians have taught that intercourse grow to be grimy, for this reason the desire for a virgin delivery of Christ. That wasn't the portion of that tale. Jesus ought to no longer be the begotten son of God (John 3:sixteen KJV) if He had a human father. How anybody can examine the song of Solomon, or some Bibles call it the song of Songs, and say that God did no longer intend for us to get excitement from sexual excitement interior of marriage is previous me. Or how approximately I Corinthians 7, the place Paul tells married human beings to no longer deprive their significant different for extremely long so as that devil does not get a foothold. a number of the married church contributors at Corinth have been abstaining from intercourse, in an attempt to be greater holy. Paul pronounced this grow to be ludicrous, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. anybody, Christian or no longer, can permit you be responsive to that's far less complicated to stay devoted to an significant different who will positioned out than to stay devoted to an significant different who won't. It additionally helps the prayer existence of the believer through fact it clears his head (I say "his" through fact adult males frequently think of greater approximately such issues than women, even though it must be hers additionally). And adult males who're fulfilled sexually with the aid of their spouse, usually experience greater obsessed with different motives that God needs us to experience obsessed with, inclusive of looking after orphans, feeding the hungry, outfits the bare, looking after the unwell, traveling people who're in penitentiary, etc. The spouse's compassion can rub off on the guy. women frequently experience greater compassion than adult males do, only through fact of their physiological makeup. If a toddler is produced, there's a organic tendency to love that toddler additionally through fact the toddler has 0.5 his DNA. each so often clergymen run into issues of youngsters through fact they don't have the present of celibacy yet are compelled to proceed to be celibate. Letting clergymen marry has solved this concern in many situations. None of this could be too mind-blowing, that God has good intentions for intercourse. It grow to be his concept, inspite of each little thing, no longer ours.
