What would be the point ot torturing someone forever, if there is no hope for redemtion?

Wouldn't it just be better or more "merciful" to just have them disappear or something? The whole hell forever thing just seems pointless and sadistic

Again for the sake of argument let’s say you are God. Now please bear with me, I need a moment to set this up. Ok for those of you who don’t know the story of the transformation of Lucifer to "Satan".
You were anointed as a guardian cherub,
for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.
You were blameless in your ways
from the day you were created
till wickedness was found in you.
"But you said in your heart,
'I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars (angels) of God,
and I will sit on the mount of assembly
in the recesses of the north. (the highest position)
'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds (above God’s glory and throne); I will make myself like the Most High.'

This dude Satan led two thirds of the angels in heaven in rebellion.
As God, what would you do with Satan?

For instance if someone asks a question about the bible and you recite a quote from the bible that answers the question it would be fact based considering the question was about religion or the bible, wouldn't you agree? Point being the bible says this and you asked if it was said and you proved it wouldn't that be considered factual? Whether you believe or disbeleive in GOD and the bible.

Why exactly are humans here? What must we accomplish? Why do we act the way we do and how does that affect us in our calling?

Why? Don't you believe Jesus Christ and what he did for you. You say you are christian but you don't wear the cross. What why christians say you are not christian. I would have to agree with them. Sorry

Since
Universe is made of energy
Energy could not destroy
when universe collapses, all the energy will be in the one place to expend again.

Therefore
Universe is in the cycle of expend, collapses, form, Infinity.

Where do all the energy came from ?
I don't know and I am very sure it is not caused by God.

It's just my point of view and please assure I am just another IMPERFECT HUMAN being. Therefore, I am here to listen your point of view ( NOT YOUR BIBLE/KORAN point of view ).

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. This arose as a quotation by Lord Acton in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887:

If your faith were the dominate religion. Would it be corrupt too?

Islam believes that Abraham(Ibraham(PBUH)) built the Kabaa? Are there any denominations that coincide with this belief? If so, are they pissed that only Muslims are allowed to see it?
According to Abrahams route, he stays to the North of Saudi Arabia; is it chronologically possible for him to have gone to Mecca in unaccounted time not mentioned in the bible?

Jesus came more than 2000 years ago, long before any form of modern technology, media, etc. Think of the impact he would have if he came back today to remind and reinforce his word to mankind.

Or have you seen the sun set in the north? Or a circle rainbow with the green on the top? My daughter and I see it every evening. Not everyone can see it. What is it? I know this has sometning to do with the end of this age. Not the end times or end of the world but, the end of this age.

I ask this because they represent about .2 percent (that's point 2 percent) of the U.S. prison population. (Verifiable - please google it). Math dictates, therefore, that 99.8 percent believe in some sort of God.

Is it possible that atheists/agnostics (who represent anywhere from about 9 to 12 percent of the general population in this country) - is it possible that they're MORE moral than the majority? Or are they just better at not getting caught?

So, I was thinking. When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, he let Lot and his wife leave the city, because they were the only good people or whatever. He told them not to look back or they would have the same fate as the civilians of the cities.

Well, Lot's wife looked back, and saw the Angels destroying the town and she turned to salt.

There is the tower of salt, that looks like a lady, by the dead sea...

Archeaologists basically say there were no Sodom and Gomorrah(and the other 2 or 3 cities that were destroyed) because they can't find any evidence of them.

Well, if the people turned into salt, wouldn't the water that is now covering the city, turn into salt water....and since the angels burnt the city, wouldn't the buildings turn into ash, and then rot?

I just think this gives a reasonable explaination to why they can't find the cities....do you think it is reasonable, or alittle far fetched??

I asked this in philosophy but there don't seem to be as many people there as there are here. Are you living your life, if so how? I think living is different from surviving and existing. And I don't care if you're a christian, atheist, agnostic, muslim, pagan, etc. I just want to know if you're living your life.

I am a huge fan of the TV show on HBO called "Big Love" and I've always been fascinated by the idea of polygamy. I'm just not sure why it's considered so immoral to have more than one wife. I mean, in the religious world sex outside of marriage is unrighteous, but this is not sex outside of marriage! This is sex very much within marriage!

Obviously there are those horror stories we always hear about young girls being forced to marry old men, but we are not talking about that, I'm talking about consensual adults in a best case scenario, like the family on Big Love. The perfect urban family x3.

Now before you start responding, let me assure you I do know about the verse in 1 Timothy 3 where it talks about deacons being the husband of only one wife. But I can quote you 10 verses where polygamy is practiced for every one verse against it. God's prophet's throughout the old testament were in the practice of having more than one wife.
So if it is in the Bible what is so wrong with it?

You guys say "Ask a Mormon if you want to know. Not the other guys" I did, and got lots of conflicting answers.
Today, Gordon Hinkley seem to be saying "Our church is OK, and so is yours."
The Protestant church in general has been getting more and more liberal over the years compared to Joseph Smiths day, so if God thought their creeds were an abomination then , He must really think so now.
Can anyone tell me which creeds got God so mad that He had to tell Joseph Smith that they were an abomination?
What kind of response would you expect from someone if you told them that their churches creeds were an abomination and had nothing to back it up?
Would they chase you out of town?

I know there must be a reasonable answer to this one because it would surley settle the fued between the Mormons and the Anti's.

Samson was given strength and God promised to keep him strong if he didn't cut his hair right?

Well that lady (i forget her name) found out his hair was what made him strong, and people came into his house at night and cut off his hair.

Now...I know everything worked out because he asked God for strength to kill those people....but what I want to know is, why did God punish Samson by taking away his strength when it was not Samson's fault his hair was cut? When it was done against Samson's will??

Why did God punish Samson for something he did not do?!? I don't think that is right, and I'm having trouble trying to figure out why he would do so...

I'm a male, 25 years old, and I need your help.

I do not want cheers or nice words that intentionally make me feel better; I need a honest response.

I'm disabled. I am very weak. I can walk, but not for long. I can drive. In fact, I have my driver License. I am deaf, but speak naturally. I do not know sign language, and I wish not to learn, because my fingers suck. I can't use a pen to write; that's why I use a computer. I'm not ugly, I am very cute. At least I was told so by many. However, no one wants to date me. I am straight and I wish to date a straight person, too. People, especially healthy females, told me to try date disabled girls. Unfortunately, I do not want to, and I have a good reason.

My reason: I am disabled, I need someone to help me. If my Partner is unable to take care of herself while I'm also unable, what sense does it make? I've been trying since age 15. That's 10 years without success. I've been kissed, but that's all. What a life
