Why exactly are humans here? What must we accomplish? Why do we act the way we do and how does that affect us in our calling?

The guy who answered first merely told you what we do. The funny thing is if you believe in God religious experts may tell you that we are here for God and to develop characteristics that God wants in us. However in the broader scheme of things. Mankind has no purpose. Why is this? This is because God has no purpose. Only created things can have purpose. Created things serve the creator, thus having purpose. For example, a microwave, a television, a car, a child, a house, anything. But since God was not created he has no purpose. He merely exists for no reason at all. Because he has no purpose, we have no purpose either, simply because we are here to satisfy a something that is virtually pointless, thus making us pointless as well.

Humans are here to take care of the animals and the world.....
We ate the fruit, and we have lost the reason why God put us here....it's in Gensis, when he creates humans, it says something like to tend to the creatures....
We act the way we do because we have free will.....it affects us because we can accept or refuse the calling. Not everyone gets a calling to serve God, and not all of those who do hear it...

God has a assignment for you. You have the whole life time here to figure out. I believe we are here for His purposes and for His pleasure like Rick Warren writes in his book " Purpose Driven Life"

We are here to be a blessing unto others. Try it...do something for yourself and see how you feel...pretty good...do something for someone else(for the right reason...not for self gain)....even better
