I'm sorry no one is giving you a serious answer. From what I remember Satan was when of god's most beloved angel. But Satan became jealous of people and free will, He became arrogant, Something like that, God got mad and sent him down to hell. They have been dooling it out every since. Someone should no the story better then I do, Aren't there a lot of Christians on this site?

Satin used to be an angel. At some point ,Satin decided that he had equal or more power than God,so God cast him out and now Satin is going to the lake of fire after judgement day, along all the other people who turned down God. Satin will do his best to tempt people away from learning about God.

Satan/Lucifer/the Morning Star was the most beautiful of the angels, but he didn't want to be under God anymore so he led a rebellion. The angels that went with him became demons. Thus because Lucifer was so beautiful he is more able to tempt people with the things that Christianity would disallow.

I think the story was that Satan was an angel,he was beautiful and one of gods favorites and when god made us he became jealous.(I think).anyway I think he tried to take over heaven by causing a war.God got angry with him and sent his angels to cast him out of heaven in to the pit of hell.I really don't remember much about the story ,maybe someone else can answer the question better.I am not a Christian I am of another faith,I like studying other religions,So I think the story goes a little like that. The devil suppose to tempt people to do bad things, so they will be in hell with him.

(Many blessings)

Satin is very tempting...

But the whole thing is just an ancient legend; I hope you don't take it seriously.

If you did, I'd point out that god made satan (according to the legend) knowing exactly everything he would do in advance, so all the evil in the world is his fault - and he also made humans gullible enough to fall for it - plus, he's torturing some of them for doing so. Nice guy, isn't it? It's a good thing he doesn't really exist.

Link below was helpful

God had many angels, including Lucifer the minister of music. Lucifer became proud and wanted to equal himself to God. While gathering a third of the angels with him to challenge God
Lucifer, now Satan, was kicked out of heaven along with the third of angels that joined Him

This is or the link is not to be taken ed as fact, just what ii remembered and something i quickly looked up.

God Bless

And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars; and she was the child; and she crieth out, travailing in birth, and in pain to be delivered. And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems. And his tail draweth the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon standeth before the woman that is about to be delivered, that when she is delivered he may devour her child. And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels going forth to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels; And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him. And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life even unto death.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isaiah 14:12

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Its a long story, you will need to sit down with a pastor or priest.

But it starts out saying Satan was Gods most beautiful angel and he wanted Gods job.
