I am a believer of Protestant Christian faith and I am trying to decide which type of bible to get. My friends suggest the NIV or the NLT because they are easier to understand. Any suggestions?

My mom thinks it's said that my family isn't religious.......except for her. She is a christian, and I was born to Greek Orthodox, do you not like people who are not religious?

I feel that God is ready to pour out His spirit on all flesh as Joel 2 tells us. But I fear that we as Christians aren't truly ready for the revival that that will bring. So will you humble yourselves with me to one pray that God pours out His spirit and two that He finds a church that is ready and willing for what He wants to do with them?

have your impressions changed?

I live in spain and i have to say sincerely that i didnt like christian/catholic people (catholics are christians whether christians in here like it or not) in here but i think that christians in the u.s (some/a few/32 of them...dont want to be accused of generalizing) are extremely weird...a weirdness that borders insanity.
I would have never thought it possible that religious people (apart from fundamentalist muslims) could be so delusional and ignorant.

Adam/Echo is an example...anyone who answers his questions with an answer he doesn't like, he will block them. I suppose he is attempting to eventually have filtered out all the 'wrong' answers. And I want him to see this too, cause he wanted me to block him...I don't block people cause I'm not afraid.

So when Christians say "read the Bible," What is it that they mean. Bill Maher said: "I've read the Bible....once." I am sure everyone has. What I am asking then is when Christians say "read the Bible;" is it that they mean "read the Bible with the Holy Spirit witness and BELIEVE it like I do"?

I have to ask this cause someone asked why religious older people look at you funny when you buy condoms and someone commented on sex before marriage. Now nowhere in the question was there a mention of marital state, so the buying of th condoms must have concluded that they weren't married. Now I can demonstrate that this is indeed false, I know plenty of married couples who have kids and the woman wasn't on birth control anymore and they have to use condoms or get something permanent done.

Or do some people assume that married couples only have sex when they are trying to get pregnant?

Jesus is freakin awesome. He can mow a lawn, trim my hedges, pick 3 barrels of grapes and steal new hubcaps for my car in less than an hour. All I had to pay him was a 6 pack of Corona!
