As for Muhammad, who knows.
But Moses and Joseph both had countless witnesses with them through various times of their communications.
For example the Lord appeared to Moses, the Patriarchs and the 70 Elders atleast once. Aaron and Joshua for example took part in numerous communications. In fact, the entire Israelites knew Moses was talking to the Lord because His presence was clearly made known to well over a million people. Atleast if you believe the Biblical account.
Joseph also had countless witnesses for almost every aspect other than His first vision. There were 12 witnesses who testified to the legitimacy of the Book of Mormon being translated from God. There were nearly 20 witnesses when Joseph and Sydney recieved the Vision of the afterlife. Oliver was with Joseph every time the Lord gave them more authority. The School of the Prophets which Joseph taught saw Christ and even the Father several times.
In fact, that is one of the most fascinating aspects about Joseph. He didnt go to the people and say "I saw God, believe me because I say so" He wasnt trying to be the sole witness. quite the opposite. He would regularly invite people into the visions he had.
To claim there was no other witnesses merely shows you really havent done much research into it. I suggest you study alittle more.

They were not alone. As for Joseph read D&C 76. Tehre were others with him. Very convenient to have a second and thir witness to testify of the tuth. Very inconvenient for those that mock.

Because there is a GOD and he spoke to me!!!! I AM WHO AM. He talks to whoever is worthy to be spoken to with the most open mind and heart. If he choses to HE or ME can use anyone HE/She desires for HIS/HER own agenda. Hopefully that agenda is to keep mankind going or to destroy them. As the Holy Bible clearly shows victory/defeat. Who sends down the sunshine when you need it or not. Who sends the rain, whether you need it or not. Pray for rain in the desert. Yeah!!!!! it does rain in the desert. Moses was in the desert, Jesus was in the desert, Joseph Smith, I do not know about him. I should read up on it though. We can all be prophets if we know what to profess about. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? GOD does want us to be happy! Take stalk people!!! raise your voice to the sky and weep for yourselves and your children who are not behaving as we/they shoulld. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple sweetheart.

Because they were faithful enough, so he could show himself unto them. He cant appear to those who don't have faith, and he only needs certain people to talk to. he doesn't need to talk to everyone.
