It's not so bad for me. My family, all Catholics, don't really bother me about it. They all know and they're of the opinion, especially my mother, that I'll go to heaven anyway if I'm a good person.

I could imagine it would suck yeah. Do they say anything to you?? Or just let you be. Do they criticise your beliefs but then expect you to accept theirs.

My family are religious (well believe in god) but not religious religious - church and prayer etc. So i'm pretty safe - and no one in my family probably cares! heh, have more to worry about in life than religion.

The funny thing is this year was the first good friday i've eaten meat - I was a believer before. My brother (he's nearly 30) saw me eating meat and was disgusted. He told my mum (she couldn't care less) But it's funny because i'm sure he has NO idea why christians do not eat meat, he just know thats what happens on good friday.

Then he told me I was going to hell! hah, I just laughed. Dumb a** doesn't even realise, if I dont believe in God, I dont believe in hell either.

I wouldn't know - my mom is a deist. No one on her side of the family is super-duper religious, with the exception of my 3 ministerial cousins. They're mostly Easter and Christmas Christians. My dad's family, I don't really know them that well, so I couldn't say.

Easy way to deal with it - say nothing. I know Christianity is based on a distortion of history, but do you really want to tell your dying mother that there is no heaven and she is just going to drop dead? Didn't think so.

Mine were pretty cool about it. They just avoid talking about it at all cost.
