Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. This arose as a quotation by Lord Acton in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887:
If your faith were the dominate religion. Would it be corrupt too?

Pagans such as the Romans have dominated other's through brut force.
So my question is not so unusual is it?

That is an excellent question! I'm sure that Paganism was corrupt when it was the dominate religion on earth and likewise it fell. I for one am not happy about my faith's faddish return to popularity as I am already seeing corruption within the ranks. People are people no matter what label they subscribe to.
I was so tempted to answer "Well the corrupt one's aren't REAL Pagans"...........LOL

The basic premise of the question is flawed, religions aren't corrupt, the people in power are.
The Roman faith was a subversion of the Greek deities, taken when they invaded Greece. We pick and choose what we want from the people we dominate.
Christians took dates and methods for religious holidays, wrote lies about human sacrific when invading Britian, when infact it was only animals. And even then rarely done.
However today, the Pagan teachings are simple, tolerance, man and woman are equal, diversity is wonderful, harm none.
Unfortunately history and even modern day has taught us to hide, that we will find no acceptance. Doubtless if we were dominate, some would use it as a vehicle for revenge, for the injustice they suffer. Also one would expect that people would commit attrocities and say it was in the name of religion.
However many of us these days remember a simple rule, usually quoted just to 93. As long as it harm non let ye will be done.

It's very likely. Christianity started out as a much persecuted cult but once it gained some power it also became full of corruption and the people in charge went on to conquer europe. The only way to know for sure is if Paganism became the majority. And you know, though i hate being persecuted for my beliefs I would not want it to take such control as Christianity has.

It already does have some corruption among the organized groups. It's just human nature. Luckily, most Pagans are very right brained and often unorganized as a rule. There's a popular saying that kind of sums up the random and free-spirited way that Pagans usually do things: "It's like trying to heard cats". Hopefully we'll continue to be mostly freethinking nonconformists, since I can think of nothing more frightening than the idea of a giant heard of cats!

Corruption exists wherever there is power and wherever there are people.. My guess is that if paganism was the dominant spiritual practice in the world, it would be less susceptible to corruption because it would have more of a balance of power between men and women. Power would be less likely to be so very absolute in the hands of many, and my guess is that with the main drive of a polytheistic paganism being a "harm none, protect Earth, all paths are equally good" kind of philosophy, the likelihood of corruption would be less.
but who knows. Let's try it and see, it could only be an improvement!

in order to maintain power you must impose it on others.
As soon as you impose power on others you become corrupt.
Modern Pagans/Wiccans are not about imposing power on others. There is very little chance Pagans/Wiccans would become the dominant religion.for that reason. Even Countries that became Buddhist pretty much by default have some corruption in government. .
"In a time of ancient gods, warlords and kings, a land in turmoil cried out for a hero. She was Xena, a mighty princess forged in the heat of battle."

All religions are corrupt, some more and some less. Only true spirituality is pure. That innate part of us that wasn't made by man (religion) is incorruptible. Earth religions and Buddhism are the closest I know to being honest and true. Peace and love>

No. My faith wouldn't be corrupt but I'm sure that there would be people in it who would be corrupt. And I don't think that a faith would have to be a dominate religion to have corrupt members. People will be people.

I think so. Not necessarily the religion itself, but people who practice it, there would be corrupt people.
I think everyone likes to think that if everyone in the world were the same as them/believed the same/thought the same, that it would be ideal, but I don't think that's true.
