Joseph Smith was actually visited by two intergalactic Zanrkerian Pitstinkers who had unexpectedly stopped in NY to ask directions. When they discovered Smith had misinterpreted their questions as a 'special message', the visitors immediately emptied their trash, outdated maps (on shiny alloy plates) and some romance novels in a hill outside Palmyra and departed saying "Adieu". Smith mistakenly took these artifacts for something really really important but forgot exactly what it was. The objects finally oxidized and dissolved into thin air with the rest of his theories, but we do have his word on it.
Whatever it means.

I know he's a prophet because of the Book of Mormon. NO man could have written that book without the help from God. Joseph never made any false prophecies. He did ask God to tell him the time of the Second coming, but God's cryptic answer was something along the lines of, if Joseph lived to be 85, he would see the face of God, or something. Joseph didn't know what it meant, but he figured that it probably would NOT happen BEFORE that time. Besides, it said IF he lived to be 85, and he did not live to 45. So, it was a conditional prophecy to begin with. I'm not sure of your reference to the blood red moon, but did it give a specific time, or just some vague time line? Because just because it did not happen yet does not mean it won't.

I'm not sure what your question is. They indeed are wrong according to the Mormon church. Period. Just like the Protestant and Catholic churches don't recognize Mormon baptisms, The Mormon church doesn't recognize theirs. That doesn't mean that they don't teach any truth or correct principles, but they don't teach it all.
Also, as I'm sure you know, the clergy of the Mormon church is unpaid. I don't know of any other major religions that claim that.
You certainly also know that the Mormon Church believes the authority of the priesthood was lost long ago, probably prior to Constantine. This is likely what led to the reformation. The Mormon's believe the authority of the priesthood was restored with Joseph Smith. This doesn't mean Joseph Smith was perfect, it just means he was given the authority and the responsibility to restore all of the principles of the Gospel.
There is no feud. You can take it or leave it once you've done your homework.

God was 'upset' at "other churches" at the time of Joseph Smith for the very same reason that He was 'upset' at churches at the time of the writing of the Old Testament book of Isaiah (Chapt 29:13) where it is written that:
"...this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men."
And is the same reason He is 'upset' at churches, ideologies, practices, beliefs -- and people today and in the future who do the same thing.
I agree that the early Mormons (or anyone of other religions then and now) bring much persecution upon themselves by setting themselves "above" others.
These acts, attitudes and behaviors were NOT taught by Joseph Smith -- in fact he specifically counselled the saints to NOT do such things.
These actions were a result of the 'inflated egos' and a sense of 'self-importance' and 'specialness' held by individual members.
They reaped what they sowed -- and rightfully so.
I am NOT a Mormon.
Today many of the so-called "anti's" are Mormon "splinter groups" and often suffer from a worse condition than the early saints did.

They believe in the apostacy. They believe that for a period of time the true gospel had been lost and none of the churches that were on the earth at that time were the true church. Then they believe that the angel moroni appeared to Joseph Smith and showed him where the gold plates were so he could translate them and reestablish the true gospel on the earth.

A lot of religions have a built-in mechanism to protect the faith of its followers that usually says something like "We are the true religion, et cetera"
If Christians claim God said Christians were the ones, but Mormons claim God said Mormons were the ones, doesnt it seem like there is no true religion? I mean someone has to be lying, right?

I doubt anything is going to settle any feud between Mormons and anti's, because it's the anti's that feud. We beleive what we believe, and they just don't want to accept that. It doesn't seem to matter what we say, they twist it and make it sound totally different.
It's like, the way they describe my church, I say, I'm glad I don't belong to THAT church. And I don't belong to THAT church, cause the LDS church I belong to is not what they say it is.
