The very few that HAVE read it cover to cover probably didn't have their 'thinking caps' on. If they did, they would have joined the ranks of the enlightened atheists.

Thankfully, I can say yes. God drew me to read the entire Bible. I grew up learning some of the stories in the Old and New Testament. I had even read much of the New Testament. But one day as I was reading the New Testament, I finally realized that Jesus referred to passages in the Old Testament. That made me want to read the Old Testament to have a fuller understanding of what Jesus was talking about. I have learned one reading isn't enough. The more you read it, the more you see. I need to read in God's Word everyday. It helps transform my mind so I will not be conformed to this world.

When you read the New Testament, there is a section in Acts that speaks of when Paul and Silas were in Berea. The Jews who were there received the word and searched the scriptures daily to see whether the things spoken by Paul and Silas were true. We are to use the bible to determine whether the words spoken by others are true or not.

I read the entire thing many times, read other people's interpretations (both ancient & modern), took college courses at a state run school on both the Old and New Testaments (and got liberal and conservative interpretations), took some seminary courses just for fun, read church history books, and made up my own mind.

Happy now?

I have read my Bible from cover to cover 3 times. And each time I still find it full of Gods grace, His glory and His love for mankind.
