The Catholic church is very corrupt and extremely greedy!

We know that the Bible tells us we have duty to support our ministers, teachers, etc. Perhaps your church was conducting a demographic survey to find out what resources they could depend on, in planning things like paying for routine expenses, education, counseling etc. However, our conscience should guide our giving. If its not from the heart, it might benefit the church but be of no spiritual benefit to us. Requiring you to file a financial statement so that THEY can decide how much you should give is like "out-sourcing" your conscience.

Then you wouldn't mind supplying a few more details, would you? Like the name of the church and the city? And are you putting your kids in their school?

Because they don't do that on a regular basis. Me thinks you are not truthful, or there is far more to the story than you gave.

I have been involved with people joining the Catholic Church for many years and I have never heard of this.

If this is true then I suggest you report this parish to your bishop.

With love in Christ.

No, trust me, it's not exploitation. It's used so that they can give your children/family financial aid if you ever want to put your kids through Catholic school. (Trust me, that gets expensive) They're only trying to help! Be grateful and God bless.

Personally, I attend a Pentecostal church. They have never asked me for any financial information. They simply welcome me with love, treat me with kindness and warmth, and preach the word of God in truth and in spirit.

The catholic church is the richest organization in the entire world, bar none. I guess maybe they would like to figure out how much they can expect from you? I really could not say.

Sounds like it. However, I've never heard of a Catholic church around here asking for that. I would know. A lot of my friends are Catholic. I imagine they want to know how much to expect from you or if you are really tithing 10%.

Please kick in your critical thinking skills.

Did anyone in Scripture that converted to Christianity have to divulge what their financial situation was?

And were not the Christians described as poor, but rich in faith?

The Catholic church teaches a false gospel. Study it carefully. There is no salvation in believing a false gospel. There is no salvation in lies.
