I love the books, I love the movies, I accept that they movies are a different medium and cannot be entirely faithful to the books.

I am also aware that there is a lot of true stuff involved in the stories, especially the books. For example, the chocolate frog cards mentioned include a lot of names of real historical witches and wizards. Check out "The Magical Worlds of Harry Potter" by David Colbert. I'm hoping he writes an updated version after the seventh and final book comes out next month.

One more thing: I think these books instill a lot of valuable virtues in kids, including courage, compassion, a desire to learn, a willingness to think outside the conventional assumptions.

If we were to be against Harry Potter, a fictional story created in someone's imagination...then we have serious issues. Parents, regardless of religion, have to teach children the difference between fantasy and reality. Just like other tales children grow up on...Cinderella, Snow white etc. Harry Potter is just a fun story that gets children reading.

I am definitely FOR. I'm pretty much obsessed with Harry Potter, it's soooo entertaining. Once you pick up a book, you can't put it down--for me, at least.
As for the content, it HAS been censored because it has gone against more practical beliefs, but that doesn't concern me. I LOVE Harry Potter.

The Harry Potter books are a wonderful set of fantasy books just like the books of the bible that teach people about good and evil, but the Harry Potter books are better than the bible because people are not taught prejudice from reading then, nor have people gone to war or killed over their beliefs in them as they have in the bible.

I have nothing against Harry Potter. I think it's a brilliant book and the author shows kids how a good book is written.

I love Harry Potter. They are classic stories of good vs. evil and good always wins out in the end.

I believe that the Harry Potter series of books was concieved in the mind of a very talented writer who penned a great fantasy series that I am enjoying reading.

It's fiction, it's fantasy, it's fun and it's a temporary escape into another place, That used to be a good thing, at least not a bad thing.

My belief is that I just can't wait for the last book.
I love the Harry Potter series. It's the only series I have ever read--and more than once.
I think Harry is going to die---I hope I can handle that.

IT IS A STORY....for entertainment only... and I have yet to find any of us who read and love Harry Potter books who has turned to any kind of "evil"
if anything it is empowering to children (and those of us who are kids at heart) that the underdog... can come out on top... and be a hero...
Anyone who believes that Harry Potter books are evil or whatever... hasnt read them so they have no clue... come on ... make an educated decision...think for YOURSELF
Holy Rollers.... get over it
