That yet the U.S. Constitution does not mention a creator or God, but over 45 States, Guam, and Puerto Rico's Constitutions do in fact mention a creator?
More than half using God or Almighty God?
http://www.usconstitution.net/states_god.html
You have to remember from history class that while the U.S. constitution was written without any mention of a creator people didn't really care for a National Government, Most where only concerned with "States Rights" thats why states had their own currency and didn't uphold other states laws at the birth of our nation.
Any thought to why almost every state and territory besides (I believe) America Samoa and West Virginia mentions a creator or a God?

lol.. I was just saying that their are a lot of religious influences in the government when most debate that our founders (State and Country) didn't believe in religion... I was just wondering what atheist feel about this? Do you feel discriminated against for not believing in a deity, when the state you live in acknowledges one and some wont let you be in office without believing in God?

if i have hurt someones feelings I would sure like to know.. surely saying that states mention a creator or God does not hurt anyones feelings and if so, shouldn't you take it up with your state and not me?

You're asking for a judgment on documents that were written and amended over the course of 240 years by 50 state bodies around the country and we're supposed to have an opinion about something we haven't studied?????
Gosh, this sounds like Christianity, not history. Christians don't seem to mind whether you've read anything, so long as you can parrot what your 3rd grade Sunday School teacher told you.
I'm not well enough educated in state constitutional development or law to have an opinion about why each one of these included their God statements. I did note that many of the God statements were in paraphrases of our non-establishment clause in the US constitution, but I don't know how or when those were inserted.

British, I can only guess...
The USA was mostly settled by religious folk, so a lower level of government that would be more tied to individual communities would be more involved in religious affairs.
A National government on the other hand, if it endorsed religion, would then have to deal with various different factions of it, some of whom disliked each other intensely. Rather than do this they took the sensible route and endorsed a secular state, which allows for freedom of religion.

Because they didn't understand the actual constitution of our nation. My state explicitly states that people who don't believe in a god can't run for state offices. Does that sound fair to you? That's where this religious discrimination will get you. In a few years like this, it will be the Taliban all over again.

50% don't believe what they are saying. They just speak without a real meaning. They may say oh yes I believe in God, but yet they don't go to Church or Worship him or pray in the right way or they pray but they offer no gift of sacrifice to Him, they just blaspheme Him any chance they get. They are not real about it.

This Country was founded on God/Jesus Christ and the thoughts/morals of the time.
This country has just decided to position itself against All of what it Used to stand for!
We're a country of Political correctness and don't hurt anybody's feelings!
