what do you think?

Ok I'm trying to remember this correctly. Christians believe that the second coming of Jesus will result in 1,000 years of peace and Jews believe that the coming of Christ will result in us being saved. Is that right?

For Christians- if Christ was meant to bring about peace on Earth then how come we don't have it?

For Jews- What do you believe about the coming of Christ? Do you believe we need two Savior comings before the 1,000 years of peace?

I am simply curious and am NOT trying to attack either religion. I just can't remember from my Christian days.

What about His teaching us The Lord's Prayer? Most of us Christians repeat that prayer, don't we?

I am Christian but...
What EXACTLY does this mean, technically? All the answers I get are always, "let him into your heart, and you will be free", and all that stuff. I don't want those fruity and obscure answers.
Some say that he died so that our sins will be forgiven forever. If that's true, why do Christians still threaten hell if you sin?
I heard it meant everyone that was in hell went to heaven. What happened to them?

P.S. No answers that insult our Lord, please.

She said, "I think I will fix some chicken noodle soup".

I replied, "Good idea."

How much trouble did I get in for that reply?

I'm a Catholic; they don't speak for me. They don't speak for mainstream Protestants. They really are just a very political and very vocal minority. Why do atheists persist in recognizing their professed claim to be the only "true" Christians? You would think atheists would be the last peole on earth to endorse their claim to Christian leadership, yet that is the obvious implication when every atheist addresses "Christians" in general as though they all held fundie beliefs. How did this trend get started?

most so called followers of Jesus Christ say that Baptism is not nessary for salvation.that just beleaving in the on the name of Jesus Christ is enouf.Jesus says"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;he that believeth not shall be damed"mark16:16.Jesus answered, verily, verily i say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit,he cannot enter into the Kindom of God"john3:5.Jesus just said all must be born of water to be saved." he that believeth not shall be damned." "Then peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS,and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost"acts2:38.it is simple, unless the name of Jesus Christ is called at baptism, there is no remission for sins.there is only one name by wich man can be saved,it's not the titles Father, son Holy Ghost. It is Jesus Christ !the thief on the cross died under the law.the law was not forfilled untill Jesus said it is finished.

Doesn't the "plan" already dictate what you are and are not going to get and how the world is going to unfold? What is the point in asking for something when God already has decided whether or not you're going to get it before you asked? Why pray for someone to get better when they are sick if God already has decided whether they will get better or not.Isn't praying for something actually going against God's plan? What makes people think God will change his "plan" for them? After all, the plan has already been decided on.Why ask God to change his mind?If he is infallible then his decision is already perfect and so asking him to change it means you question his decision and must think he isn't infallible.Otherwise, you wouldn't need to pray to him for anything.Right?

Some people in the U.S. say to avoid strife at all costs. But Jesus says to strive to enter in at the Straight Gate (Jesus is the straight gate). So what do you think, should we follow the world's advice or Jesus' advise?

For those unfamiliar with this fundamentalists Baptist Church...

They say in inflammatory words, what fundamentalist churches preach every Sunday...however, fundies separate themselves from these people...saying they are wrong...but, they are quoting the same Bible and same scripture.

So fundies, what do you think of this group?

Would you stand with gay people in fighting this organization?

No one can prove that God exist or doesn't exist. This makes the odds of his existence about 50:50. If God really doesn't exist, then all the religious people are living the lives of delusion. Someone who lives a life of delusion is usually considered by doctors to be a mentally disturbed person. This is a medical diagnisis, not a value judgement. In other words, if God doesn't exist, then we, atheists, live among psychologically sick, mentally disturbed people?
