I told you Christ was back in the flesh?

Cause face it, he's not just gonna appear in the sky one day on your way to work or your souls aren't gonna get sucked up into heaven while you're eating dinner... so in order for anything to happen he has to be reborn into this world.

But what if he was already born though? Not one of those "he's in our hearts" but actually living amoung us? But he's not claiming that he is... he just IS.

That when he gets to a certain age he will become known to the world (kinda like a celebrity) and that's when the 7 year Tribulation period will begin... ending with his death then THAT'S when he is ressurrected and appears in the sky and then the rapture.

But honestly, how would you feel if you KNEW he was actually here, breathing, living?

Comfort... or maybe fear?

But i'm actually positive he is. And that's not just belief, that's a-matter-of-fact i know he is(i'm not claiming it either). Just try to believe me, please.

this is one of the reson why i dislike christianity and other abrahimic religions:
imagine you are a very good person who follows the commandments and so you go to heaven....however your spouse, mother, children or other very close loved ones were bad people.....they slept around, took drugs, were thiefs and gamblers and so they ended up going to hell........well what would be the point in a heaven you couldn't even be with you loved ones? it just doesn't makes sense......sure you get to float on clouds, and get your virgins etc etc...but all this would be pointless if you dont even hae your loved ones.

Another thing i dont get is the whole concept of 'hell'........why would this even be created??
what possible pleasure could a 'loving' god get from torturing people for all eternity??
i know it's the devil that does it...but over all god controls everything right? so why would he want ones of his creations to suffer like that??

I used to go to a good church in Australia where there were plenty of people my age, where they were respectful and calm and welcoming to newcomers.

Since I got to Scotland I've been to one Church of Scotland church, where they were calm and respectful but the place was full of people over 70 and the sermons made me drift off. I've been to one Episcopalian church where they were closer to my age (a little younger) but they were all tearing around like hairy goats and singing those awful modern songs I hate (I like the old hymns).

Any ideas how I can find a church where I have something in common with the other people, people who are in my age group (25-40), that use decent music and use the traditional format instead of the new 'express yourself' format?

Do I have to visit every church in my area or is there any help, eg online forums. I don't personally know anyone else here who's a Christian.

and what he taught was written by his followers, not himself.

how then is his teaching reliable? how then can one say that he truly existed in history? how would i know he's not a made up figure whose follower copied teachings of earlier people to make himself sound credible?

... whether Angels walk the Earth, masquerading as people?

2007-06-12 09:12:29 · 28 answers · asked by Anonymous

With all the incredible individuals in the "Old Testament", some who actually "walked with God", the seventy elders who ascended Mt. Sinai, who "saw God" and then ate and drank in His presence, Moses who set the whole ball rolling for the nation of Israel, the prophets like Mica and Ezekiel who spread God's word.....none of them are ever referred to as "saints". Why?

Why don't Christians refer to Saint Moses, Saint Aaron, Saint Abraham or Saint Issac?

Just wondering....?

The more we have of material things the more we want and the greedier we become . I don't want any part of that . Being humble is always considering others before yourself . This requires faith in God to provide for you, letting go of everything that I possess, so that by being free of material things I can own all things . As long as I’m tied to the things of this world I’ll never know true humility because these material things will keep me busy tending to them . How can I get over buying new belongings ? Do I make a rule that says "Don't buy any new material things ?" . How can I get to where II don't depend on material things for happiness ? What do I do with myself after I give up collecting material things ? How can I get spiritually ready to get rid of my belongings ?

I have seen many supposedly religious people telling atheists, pagans and others that they don't belong here because this is RELIGION&spirituality. There is a reason that both words are used: one does not automatically imply the other.

I block people who respond to genuine questions with "You need to accept Jesus .. ect." or "there is no G-d," name calling or if they have revealed themselves to be any other kind of troll.

If someone presents a relatively well thought out response, even if I disagree with them, I usually give them a thumbs up and go about my merry way.

Why do you block people?

"You are the biggest idiot in the world. By your existance we know evolution is a farce. In none of your inane comments have you made the remotest sense. You are an imbicile and make anyone in hear shot dumber for having heard you. May all the moronic, idiotic and uneducated things you have said bear complete and unequivocated effect upon your small, uneducated existance. You have the i.q. of a turd."

Bwwaaaa haaa haaa haaaa!!! I gotta admit, I almost peed my pants at this one! Especially with all the spelling errors!!

Do you think I hit a nerve with him?

I mean it's not in heaven, the place where forever is. This world is nothing but dust, and that is all your love is. We are suppose to desire heaven, not this world. This is the one thing that I hurt with my family of God.......what does your marrage mean to you, if in reality it means nothing? Is it pleasure? to breed? so you can fit in the world? Lonliness? If I was ever to take a woman, I would not beable to love God.....I would hate him because he used me for the kingdom, I would feel like a heavenly prostiute procreating for God. Why desire somthing that is nothing, as per the bible....Elesastics(all of it) 1 Cor 7:29, 1 John 2:15,16. you know this way end's in dust, but you love it why? Have you ever thought about seeking God and asking him why there is no marrage? you all seem to know the scriptures, but do you know the power of God? I know the power of God.....and I will win a wife in heaven.

have to worry. She is ready to die but keeps hanging on because she thinks when she dies, she's going to be "lost" since she's not sealed to her parents or her husband. All of them have already passed away, and have had their temple work done. She wasn't active in church in her later life, and now that she's dying and can't get to church or the Temple, she's afraid to die.

I'm not Mormon, I'm just taking care of her in her house. Are there any church articles that talk about this or can help reassure someone that the temple work will be done for her after she dies?

After all, this is religion AND spirituality. Not being religious does not make a person non-spiritual. Being spiritual does not mean a person has to be religious either.
