Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians.
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!
Ironically, Jehovah's Witnesses are UNIQUE among self-described "Christians" in that they actually *DO* believe in the same monotheistic, non-trinitarian Almighty Father as Jews did and typically still do.
Jehovah's Witnesses are great students of the Hebrew Scriptures (they even refuse to call it an "Old Testament"). Jehovah's Witnesses appreciate the richness and robustness of the Law and the prophets, and recognize the literal thousands of ways they point toward Christianity. They recognize that a substantial number of the "kings and priests" who rule forever alongside Jesus must be ethnic Jews.
Jehovah's Witnesses are also unique in applying many of the principles of God's dealings with the nation of Israel to the modern Christian congregation.
Regarding their rejection of the so-called "trinity", Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.
(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation
(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.
(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God
(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God
(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth
(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak
(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him
(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father
(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God
(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him
Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

"Yahweh" is not found in any Bible I've found. Neither is "Yeshua." If we go back to the Hebrew (from which the name is derived), the Hebrew letters spell the name of God as YHWH, there is not vowels in it at all. A Jewish scholar was asked how to pronounce the name and he replied, "Orthodox Jews will not pronounce the name, for it is holy. But if I were pronouncing it, I would say 'Jehovah.'"
In the Hebrew, there is no "J" or its exact equivalent. Thus the holy city would be "Yerushalom." When Jesus was born and throughout his ministry, that city was known as Jerusalem. The New Testament was not written in Hebrew, it was written in Greek. The translation from Greek to English for the son of God is "Jesus". The common language when Jesus walked the earth was Aramaic or Greek, not Hebrew.

They are a sect of Christianity.....they read from a version of the Bible called the " New World Translation" which differs from many other bibles in key areas....They don't belive Jesus was crucified on a cross for one. They belive he was nailed to a pole, straight up and down, with His arms above His head. They, like some Christians, don't belive in the Trinity. They belive that Jesus is the son of God but not a part of God. They belive that Jesus will return to earth as its King, with God (Jehovah) being the King of Heaven. They do not use any 'idols' including pictures of Jesus or crosses in their places of worship, which are called "Kindom Halls".
They have some other interesting belives as well. One of which, they belive that the day of Satan being cast from Heaven (as spoken of in the Revelation to John) happened in the early 1900's (I belive they claim 1917?). This triggered, in their theology, the two World Wars, the Great Depression and other things in History which indicates the 'End Times'.
Many Christian Theologians don't agree with many of their belives and practices, but to the Jehovah's witness it is the ONLY way to worship.
They belive that Jehovah is God's one true name, however I have read in some instances where that particular transliteration of Yaweh did not appear untell the middle ages.

curiously, Yosef would not understand his very own language! He sounds so hateful, yet evaluate what some independent professionals say. in accordance to Professors Stephen L. Harris and James Tabor, sheol is a place of "nothingness" that has its roots interior the Hebrew Bible (or Talmud). "the classic Hebrews had no concept of an immortal soul living an entire and considered necessary existence previous dying, nor of any resurrection or return from dying. people, like the beasts of the sector, are created from "dirt of the earth," and at dying they return to that dirt (Gen. 2:7; 3:19). The Hebrew word nephesh, traditionally translated "living soul" yet greater precise understood as "living creature," is the comparable word used for all respiration creatures and refers to no longer something immortal...each and all of the lifeless bypass all the way down to Sheol, and there they lie in sleep jointly — no remember if solid or evil, wealthy or adverse, slave or loose (job 3:11-19). it particularly is defined as a area "darkish and deep," "the Pit," and "the land of forgetfulness," decrease off from the two God and human existence above (Pss. 6:5; 88:3-12). however in some texts Yahweh's potential can attain all the way down to Sheol (playstation . 139:8), the dominant concept is that the lifeless are deserted perpetually. this concept of Sheol is adverse in assessment to the international of existence and gentle-weight above, yet there is not any concept of judgment or of advantages and punishment. If one faces intense circumstances of suffering interior the area of the living above, as did job, it could additionally be considered as a welcome alleviation from soreness–see the third financial disaster of job. yet in fact it particularly is a sort of "nothingness,"(playstation . 88:10)."

They are Christians on their very own way. Jehovah is not the name of God, it's a name created by the Masoretic monks.
