For those unfamiliar with this fundamentalists Baptist Church...

They say in inflammatory words, what fundamentalist churches preach every Sunday...however, fundies separate themselves from these people...saying they are wrong...but, they are quoting the same Bible and same scripture.

So fundies, what do you think of this group?

Would you stand with gay people in fighting this organization?

God doesn't hate anyone, I'm a strong Christian and believe these people are WRONG. I would stand with anyone against them. Most Christian churches don't preach hate toward Gay people. They may not accept the live style, but they don't hate or preach hate. It's unfortunate that a vocal few provide a stereo type, the majority must live with.

God Bless.

This is akin to saying that the Tea Party is a bunch of liberal activists trying to make ultra-right wingers seem really extreme, thereby forcing moderates back to the left. WBC is really a group of atheists, therefore potential faithies will be thrown the other way. In both cases, the answer is 'no', based on Occam's Razor. It is OKAY to accept there are genuine lunatics in the world without having to turn to a similar form of lunacy to explain them.

I tried the site couldn't get it.. but no.. I would not side with the Church or the Gay people,, You are suppose to hate the sin not the sinner,, this is why some people hate Christians,, theres always a bad apple in the bunch,, we are suppose to love one another,, and show what sin is,, in a loving way,, not with hate..

This fundie thinks they're a cult that took over a one time baptist church and believe me I have way more patience with gays than I do them. So let's take 'em on! :) And I'd gladly unite with lesbians to fight porn. When we can agree, why shouldn't we work together?

I do not approve of the message or tactics of the Westboro Baptist Church, but I also would wager that you haven't darkened the door of a fundamental church in so long that you wouldn't know what they preach on any given Sunday. I'm afraid that you are as hate filled in your beliefs as Fred Phelps is in his.

Im from Lynchburg, Va and if it is true true that they are christians (which i do not know) then why did they protest Jerry Falwells funeral? Why do they go aginst fellow churches? these are people who belive God hates america... i dont see many other churches preaching that. suerly i belive the bible goes aginst homosexuality, but God tells us to teach people and do it in love. Love thy neighbor as thyself, God says that we should forgive 70 * 7 and to not dislike the person, but the sin. While we shouldn't agree and accept homosexul ways we should still treat the person as human, repsect them, and love them as we love ourselves.

hope that helps you see a little bit
God Bless

Fundamentalists do not condone the gay lifestyle in light of scripture that prohibits such....We however, do not hate homosexuals and are appalled at the attitude and teaching of obvious hate groups which bear little resemblence of the Love of Jesus.............These people are walking on as thin or thinner ice than the one's who they condemn....I want no part of their hate filled message.

I won't stand with gay people, but I will say that Westboro doesn't speak for me at all.

These people, crazy as they are, are true Christians.

They're just not watering down the Christian insanity the way modern, moderate Christians do.

Edit - To Dolphin.. below... Actually, according to your bible, you're supposed to kill this particular sinner. I suppose you don't have to hate them while you do it... that I will admit.
