Hi, im puzzeled and wondering if chrsitianity teaches pedophilia, the reasons being the church of england and th pope have covered cases of abuse up. heres the storys

Even though the Bible says to love little children, I don't think that's what they mean. The truth is that people who have pedophilian tendencies put themselves into places where they can get their wishes fulfilled, and then the institutional silence of churches protects them. Same with Boy Scout groups, bus drivers and schoolteachers. People with the weakness put themselves where they are tempted.

No one teaches such a thing at least not in a concious way. The church is the thing that is linked in peoples minds with it most often because it makes the biggest headlines. Those who abuse minors are sick. They are sick but also have enough in their psychi to lead them to good hunting grounds to enact the fantasy. They put themselves often in a position of trust and then act out the fantasy ......in secret they hope. The secrets withi the church however are compounded by the heirarchy condoning the whole thing. The do this by shielding the abusers and not offering appropriate support to the victims. The pope himself has been guilty of this. It is of course unforgivable. To blame God is not entirely fair......the men and women who abuse in His name or while posing as trusted leaders within the church are human. There ways are not God's ways and it is only thier twisted minds that could ever try to say God was involved at all.

The Church does not teach pedophilia. They teach against it. They tried to cover it up because they did not want to incriminate the church further.
