Personally, having been a Christian once before in my life, the most offensive, inexcusable thing a Christian can ever say to me is "you were never a Christian."

I have never ceased to be utterly appalled and outraged by the utter callousness, arrogance, and hypocrisy required for a person to flippantly dismiss an entire segment of my life as having never happened when there is no way they could ever know what the "condition of my heart" was.

A few "friends" of mine who KNEW me intimately (small group members, those who I fellowshipped with closely in college) have said this and I refused to ever talk to them again.

What is the most offensive thing a Christian can say to you?

Jesus says three times to pluck out your eye if he offends you. Matthew 5:29, Matthew 18:9, and Mark 9:47. Can somebody please explain why an all-loving God (remember; the Trinity) would follow such an archaic ideal?

To a small child over and over and over again, he would believe me, right? As his mother/closest guardian? As the most trusted force in his world?

How is this any different than indoctrinating children with religion rather than having them choose independently whether or not they believe by giving them classes in intellectual scrutiny? Not when they're 2, of course (a 2 year-old should believe that his Cookie Monster doll will protect him from the darkness). Perhaps at some point mid-elementary school?

Sure, you believe it (your religion) and it is, of course , the "true religion", because you know that, because it's the truth, because it says so in a book. Now why not give your child the freedom of 'choice' (as the Abrahamic god has given you, which, it seems, is the 'choice' he gives (the universal) you of granting eternal life only to those who believe that his son is God or kills in His name.)

why is it that YOUR bible says to lead by example, and be a light upon a hill? yet when a woman obviously not feeling happy, who is looking for encouragement asks you if she's a good person, you preach to her, instead of reassuring her?? seriously, why would you tell her she is taking her and her daughter to hell?? WHY?? is THAT what christianity is about? scaring people, and making them feel bad on a bad day? kicking them when thier down? why would you not instead show tolerance, and support her? why not preach later??

I am sorry to ever have called myself a christian, the way you have behaved is UNchristian and just plan mean.

Not only is that a wrong argument, and completely ignoring the fringe benefits of having some population being homosexual (those not having children can help others raise children in various ways by being useful to society), but why would Christians argue that evolution would select against homosexuality?

I know you're real keen on proving they weren't "born that way" and instead chose to be sinful, but aren't you forgetting how much you hate evolution?

Did you choose to be heterosexual, or did you find that you were uncontrollably attracted to the opposite sex?

If you say you CHOSE (as many recently answered this question) does this mean you have homosexual tendencies, but you choose to ignore them and be heterosexual? Please explain your choice if this is your answer.

you know you have the Father, the Word, and the Holy ghost and you say they are all one.

this is crazy. no matter what, in your mind there will still be 3 distinct images in your mind.

if i say, the Father, you will imagine an old man with big white beard sitting over the earth in the heavens.

if i say the Word, you will imagine a young man with blonde hair and blue eyes and nice beard who looks handsome and attractive.

if i say the holy ghost, you will imagine a spirit, a white ghost flying and sometime that might have vapourized.

if you still say you have one god, you are lying becos they re 3 different physical images you have in your mind.

if you have 3 identical triplets, and one commits murder, you cant hang all 3 becos you can say that they are different persons.
