I know a christian that smokes. She acts like it's okay to smoke and god understands why she does it.

That's bullcrap Judy. When you smoke you're hurting your body and your body is a temple of god. That's considered a sin.

Sounds like some twisted form of self-righteousness to me.
Because Christians do bad things, just like anyone else. "Accepting Jesus" doesn't make them any different in this aspect.
I really wish they'd figure that out to, because a "can do no wrong" mentality really sets them up for judging others for their wrong-doings, and an individual has no right to judge someone else's sins. According to their Bible, this action is reserved only for God.
Let us be mindful that not all Christians take on a "holier than thou" additude.
Just the fundamentalists.

Give me an example. Not just christians think that by the way....Oh okay, well, I'm not sure what to say. Smoking is not a sin, but the bible does tell us to treat our bodies as a holy temple of God. I smoked for 5 years, when I gave my life to Christ, I no longer had any inclination to smoke, mainly because I wasn't hanging around people who smoked or drank anymore. I can't speak for her I don't know where she is in her walk with the Lord, it may not be something she wants to give to God yet, we all hold on to things and struggle with giving "everything" over to the Lord. Our faith is a journey.

Some don't do anything wrong.

Christians are not the only people who will twist it around making it seem right.

I think that it's not just Christians. People in general want to be right and will do almost anything to not be proven wrong

I completely understand. They behave as though they are all so saintly and they say that atheists are those who are wrong-doers. Their attitude is just plain irritating.

Smoking won't send you to hell if you are saved, you may reach your final destination a little sooner than expected!

Well it's because of that thing...you know that THING.
It causes us to do something that we can't explain and then do a thing to fix it.
