Just a Simple Question.

To Purple D:

I'm sorry dear, but you are quite mistaken. It is a well known fact that God IS indeed a Hank Williams sr. fan.

To Keiichi: Since you admit that He can become a man if He wanted to, then doesnt it follow that if He became a true Man, He could then, "get hungry" "get tired", be limited to "one physical location", etc, etc,.?
In other words, all of the reasons that you say that Jesus could'nt have been God Almighty when He was on earth.

You cant have "your cake and eat it to".

To Achtung: Sorry Achtung. You are not a "true christian". I notice you put that in every one of your answers now. Like I said in another answer, "You can scream that you are until H*** freezes over. Your NOT.

Jesus said to the Pharisees, and He says to YOU, "Unless you believe that I AM, you WILL die in your sins".

And besides, as I've already PROVED in the question, "The Names of God". (Interested readers may see my profile for that question. See Achtungs remarks and my comments),
You do not think for yourself, but let the Watchtower do your thinking for you. So, I'm never interested in ANY answer you give.

Yes.
There are no limits to Jehovah's power, and He can certainly redefine the definitions of English words.

(Matthew 19:26) With God all things are possible.

(Mark 10:27) All things are possible with God.

(Mark 14:36) Father, all things are possible to you

But the questioner's "if" is preposterous, and would require seemingly irreconcilable bible teachings to be reconciled. True Christians (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) recognize that Jehovah Himself puts limits on what he will and will not do.

(1 Samuel 15:29) The Excellency of Israel will not prove false, and He will not feel regrets, for He is not an earthling man

(Hebrews 6:18) It is impossible for God to lie

(Numbers 23:19) God is not a man

Frankly, it seems impossible to address this so-called "question" without noting a remarkably apropos Scripture:

(Romans 1:22-23) They became foolish and turned the glory of the incorruptible God into something like the image of corruptible man

Here is more from that passage:
(Romans 1:18-25) God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way... Although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God nor did they thank him, but they became empty-headed in their reasonings and their unintelligent heart became darkened. Although asserting they were wise, they became foolish and turned the glory of the incorruptible God into something like the image of corruptible man... Therefore God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them, even those who exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the One who created

Yes.

No. To your second question.

Jesus is not God, and not just because of his physical limitations. Jesus, God's son was "sent" to earth, not the Almighty.

John 3:17 - God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.

Jesus was made flesh with out divinity thus he was said to be made lower then Angels as Adam was. This was proven at his baptism where he received his father's spirit (His father's power and him are one - Jhn 10:30) to be able to heal the sick and do works in his father's name.

Ps 7:17 - "I shall laud Jehovah according to his righteousness, And I will make melody to the name of Jehovah the Most High."

Jehovah's name is already the most high (Ps 83:18) which would conflict with the trinity perception, Jesus being obedient to death had his name raised higher.

Phil 2:5-7 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,

"and became obedient to death—" Only creations underneath the Almighty need to be obedient to him.

Tts 2:9 [Exhort] servants to be obedient unto their own masters, [and] to please [them] well in all [things];

Jesus, God's Son was praised by his father for not sinning or being disobedient.

"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!" — Matthew 17:5

Titus 3:9 But shun foolish questionings . . . for they are unprofitable and futile.

I liked you other, ‘What if’ question.

For instance what if you read in the Bible:

Jesus saying

“the Father is greater than I”

When being accused of being equal to God, Jesus said:

“The Son can not do a single thing of his own initiative”
“I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me”

Jesus identified himself by saying

“I am a representative from him, and that One sent me forth.”

“I said, I am God’s Son”

Would you change your mind?

===

But wait that is what Jesus did say.

John 14: 28 I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

John 5:19 Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, 30 I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative; just as I hear, I judge; and the judgment that I render is righteous, because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

John 7: 29 I know him, because I am a representative from him, and that One sent me forth.”

John 10: 36 do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?

There is a simple way to see if someone has the true Jesus or not. By true Jesus, I mean the one of the Bible, not the one of Mormonism who is the brother of the devil, nor the Jehovah's Witness Jesus who is Michael the Archangel, and certainly not the one of the New Age Movement who is simply a man in tune with the divine consciousness.

The Jesus of the Bible is prayed to (Acts 7:55-60; Psalm 116:4 and Zech. 13:9 with 1 Cor. 1:1-2).
The Jesus of the Bible is worshiped (Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33; 28:9; John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6)
The Jesus of the Bible called God (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8).

I see non JWs have answered your question so I know you won't mind me answering too.
God can be anything he wants but it doesn't necessarily mean he would be does it?
I mean he could be a Hank William sr fan if he wanted but it's doubtful if he will ever be.

Hi there.

Forgive me, I'm not a "Jehovah's Witness" (although I am Jehovah's witness) and this is not a simple "Yes or No" answer.

However -

"What is impossible with men is possible with God" (Luke 18:27).

Yahweh said, "I am the First and I am the Last; Besides me there is no God." (Isaiah 44:6).

Jesus said, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last." (Revelation 1:17).

Revelation 1:8 - "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, THE ALMIGHTY." (caps for emphasis).

Please note that NU-Text and M-Text add "God" onto "Lord" in this verse, and the JW's New World Translation render "Lord" as "Jehovah".

Compare with the Lord Jesus' speaking in Revelation 22:13, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last."

These titles are pretty unique, right ? How many "First and Last's" and "Alpha and Omega's" can there possibly be ?

Answer - only one.

John 10:30 - "I and My Father are one."

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1).

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt (lit. "tabernacled", i.e. lived in a human tent) among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14).

"And Thomas answered and said to (Jesus), My Lord and my God !" (John 20:28, insert mine).

In the Greek, John 20:28 is literally, "The Lord of me and THE God of me" (the definite article is present here).

There are many other scriptures which prove the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, so many that you could fill a book with them.

That book is the Bible.

God bless you. May the Lord be gracious to JW's.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear !

Edit -

Nice to see an honest, straightforward answer from Keiichi.

NO is the answer I would have given when I was a JW.
YES is the answer I give now I am no longer a JW.

Carlpartis explains it beautifully.

Wonder why no JW's have deigned to respond to this q?
