The condition you speak of is refered to as vacuum. Your body would be dead without the 'space suit' astrounauts wear within minutes. I don't think in that condition farting would be of highest significance to you.

You can fart on the moon. Just because there is no air on the moon, doesn't mean there isn't methane in your digestive system. But dude... you'd be wearing a space suit.

The air that you would release wouldn't REMAIN on the Moon because the Moon has much less gravity (hence the lack of atmosphere in the first place). It would simply be released into space.

If you opened your spacesuit...

They all ready did that in fact they pooped on it that is why they don't go back haven't you heard. The moon became more foggy because there is no way for the gases to escape pretty stinky Hugh?

Brigham Young, AKA Mormon Prophet #2, stated that people lived on the moon circa 1840's..

Which means there IS air on the moon. I mean, come on, he was a prophet. He did not, however, mention anything in his sermons regarding the passing of gas.

well first of all you heard right, second...........why do yahoo allow stupid questions and where is the end of this because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? You could not even breath and feed yourself without the help of scientific gadgets or equipment.It is not a natural life ,as is here on earth.

yes but you couldn't smell it, unless you had a space suit. I'm sure NASA develop food to minimise gas leakage it it can affect scientific experiments and distracting to astronauts.
