Why would it?
I trust God!
But yeah, most of the world does not- so therefore those who use it that do not trust God could care less. Sadly.

Yes. Contrary to popular belief, this country was NOT founded on Christianity, and we've always had a separation of Church and State. Many ATHEISTS are main characters in creating the USA, but no one ever seems to care. I don't think it's fair to the Atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, Muslims (some of which do not equate God with Allah), etc to have this written on money. Indeed, it's a lie anyway, because many do not trust in God.

I still try to get as much as possible, though =)

Since "money" was first invented, the faces of powerful people or religious verses and slogans have adorned the coins and papers in many places. Governments have used standardized monies as a way of unifying the territories under their control and to consolidate belief in their chosen religious system. It's an ancient practice. As a modern religious person I have mixed feelings about such things being on money. On the one hand it's like a pun that implies the money is the god we trust in. On the other hand money empowers us to do wonderful things, whether in the name of God or just because we believe doing them is a good thing.

yeah it does. not drastically so, but it pisses me off even more when I say that it does and ppl get all pissy about it. it's not as if non-God money looses it's value or is rejected by cashiers, I'd say that proves that there isn't a God. But realistically it shouldn't be there, it's completely disrespectful to everyone. By it being present on your money the government is saying that 'sure there is a God, but there is only one, and it's a boy.' They putting severe limitations on your beliefs with just four words, and then failing to, at the very least, acknowledge those limitations.

It does not bother me that it says "In God We Trust" on our currency as I don't notice it nor do I care. What bothers me is that people think it's always been on there when it hasn't. Try finding a currency note from the 1900's on up to c. 1956. You won't find it on those bills.

However, you will find it on coinage dating back to the 1870's.

Oh, btw, just to let you know -- this country wasn't founded on Christian principles.

Not at all cos we don't.
Please bear in mind with generalisation like this that MANY users of Yahoo are "Not American" I know itæs something your government tried to suppress, but America is NOT the centre of the universe.
If you had addressed your question to the "American users" fine, but you didn't
Having said that (Rant mode off) it wouldn't bother me. The USA was formed as a Christian society when founded, and if it had stuck closer to those foundations you'd have far less crime, drug use etc etc etc.

No, don't you know this country is Manasseh (God's battle axe to raise or bring up other countries). God blessed this country way before it was established. After the curse imputed by God, it became a country in 1776 (it was cursed for 2,520 years). www.mylordmysavior.com

May be its not a factual Statement - but atleast some one is brave enough to say it boldly - I am impressed with this.

Instead of just having picture of some Old guy or politician, atleast they have name of "God" on something they value..

No. It odd that some of my Christian friends think it sacrilegious to combine God and money.
