Did you choose to be heterosexual, or did you find that you were uncontrollably attracted to the opposite sex?
If you say you CHOSE (as many recently answered this question) does this mean you have homosexual tendencies, but you choose to ignore them and be heterosexual? Please explain your choice if this is your answer.

My being heterosexual was not a choice, I just always liked girls.
Just as I suspect homosexuality is not a choice.
Certain non-homosexuals believe homosexuality IS a conscious choice because for many homosexuals, there is a period of doubt and questioning before they "decide" to be gay.
This doubt only exists because for some homosexuals in certain parts of the country, society is pressuring them NOT to be gay. They're influenced by this social pressure, which is what casts them into that period of doubt.
Their choice is not whether to be homosexual or heterosexual. Rather, they have to choose between fitting in with society and not fitting in with society (in certain less tolerant parts of the country).

It's natural for me, but by no means black & white. I do appreciate the male aesthetic and have even found softcore gay porn a little erotic, but I've never met a man I've been at all attracted to while I have been attracted to many women along the way. I guess it's a biochemical thing, maybe involving pheromones, which would not come into play when viewing mere images but would with people in person.

I believe that no different could we have chose our race or hair color etc. could we make the choice of our sexuality at birth. I didn't choose to be heterosexual, I was born this way and I believe it is the same for those that are homosexual.
God Bless You

Neither. I was born heterosexual, but I manage to control my attractions and refrain from throwing myself at every man I find attractive.

I cannot choose to be heterosexual just as much as I cannot choose my natural hair color to be blond or my eyes blue.
After having this argument with so many silly xians, who claim we choose our sexuality, I've come up with this:
We can choose what acts of sex we do or who we do it with. But we cannot choose what orientation we are. Sure, we can choose the gay lifestyle but why would we want to when we're clearly not interested in the same sex? Same thing goes for the homosexuals. They may be able to fake it, but if they're not straight, they're only deceiving those around them and hurting themselves in the process.
It's not a choice.

Never thought of being homosexual actually...just the way it went. If I had to choose then, i'd say "uncontrollably attracked"

Anyone who states they haven't wondered, has two sure attributes. They are evangelical Christians and liars. I suppose you will say you never wondered about what it would be like with another woman or aren't you honest enough to answer that cornering question.
Go back to playing word games in you Sunday school class. You aren't ready for R & S.
If you want the truth.....Ask a Pagan.

Nope. Didn't choose. It creeps me out that so many otherwise intelligent people think it is a choice.
Maybe they're jealous?
