Based on the known weaknesses and failures of all or most of the old testament patriarchs, prophets, and kings, as well as the new testament's Judas, Peter, and Paul, not to mention most of the other apostles, who were all chosen by God for their respective missions, why do people attempt to hold the Church, and in particular the Papacy, to standards that are noteably higher than God's?

My grandson told us last week that he is a non believer.

This stuff makes me sick. Why are today's youth throwing away their future in heaven for the gifts of the earth?

I would expect that kind of garbage from these hippie atheist types. But not someone raised in the house of the Lord.

I'm taking him out of my will and have no choice but to no longer help pay for his college. If you want to turn your back on Jesus, be ready for the consequences.

If more adults would put consequences for this kind of crap, we would help bring back children to the Lord.

I blame these types that run shows like "Will & Grace" and run around talking about worshipping rocks and acting European. No wonder we are in trouble as a nation. I can only hope my grandaughter stays away from this guy until he gets his act straight. She actually acts like a female, just like in the 50's and 60's. Now, they don't. Most just eat a lot and talk to other girls. Divorce is horrible.

Warnke went around the country trying to scare people into becoming Christians by telling his 'story' of being a former 'Satanic High Priest', whatever the hell that is, and scaring them into donating money to help teens that didn't exist while he bought new homes.

Warnke turned out to be a pathological liar and was exposed by a Christian publication called Cornerstone, but not before he had convinced law enforcement agencies, 20/20 news style shows and Christians of every stripe that there was a vast conspiracy of Satan worshipers abducting and sacrificing children all across America.

LaVay set up a campy Church of Satan, full of B-Movie references and large breasted minions, which looked more like the set of the Addams Family than anything else.

Who did more damage? Who lied more?

Who was more dangerous? The Christian or the 'Satan Worshiper'?

In the questions I asked about Christians being intolerant, I found that I for one am intolerant and that I believe that the Bible is intolerant of sins but forgiving of the sinner that wants to repent..
Do you think that there will be some middle ground or will we eventually divide the USA over this?? or is divide too extreme, but I see some serious division coming over these issues..

It is acceptable to use the X, in place of Christ, always, so again, we Christians, thank you for using it. Not really a question but you may comment as to this, please.

I was married in a Catholic church more than 13 years ago. I have researched the Catholic religion for a few years now. Im sure many priests and nuns believe they are doing the work of God. I have found that the Catholic church is one big cult disguised as Christian but is not. Do you think my marriage is blessed by God or not? I have prayed about this and know what I need to do just wondering what some people think. Peace out................

Pls don't just say "yes, the Ark's a myth" or "Christians are all absurd, anyway". What I'd like to know is:

Has anyone here ever sat down with a "believer" (defined as you like), figured out rough volume of the Ark (300 cubits x 50 cubits x 30 cubits--cubit being abt 22 inches), & then brainstormed out how the Eternal might've made things work (or not work), just mostly for fun? AND HAD THE BELIEVER THEN START SERIOUSLY WONDERING IF THERE WERE GAPS IN THE BIBLE TEXT?? Pls share your experiences.

Seems that it'd be really tough (from a sheer physical perspective) to jam all those critters into that relatively limited space. I mean, even if you COULD get the lion & lamb to lie down together & both would rise up in the morning, all those 2by2s or 7s of "clean animals"---go to any decent zoo, & you've got a LOT of variety. Add in stretching space, load-bearing walls, manure aisles, feed & people space....

Pls keep bashing to minimum--just want your history. TY

"When we hear the ancient bells growling on a Sunday morning we ask ourselves: Is it really possible! This, for a Jew, crucified two thousand years ago, who said he was God's son? The proof of such a claim is lacking. Certainly the Christian religion is an antiquity projected into our times from remote prehistory; and the fact that the claim is believed - whereas one is otherwise so strict in examining pretensions - is perhaps the most ancient piece of this heritage. A god who begets children with a mortal woman; a sage who bids men work no more, have no more courts, but look for the signs of the impending end of the world; a justice that accepts the innocent as a vicarious sacrifice; someone who orders his disciples to drink his blood; prayers for miraculous interventions; sins perpetrated against a god, atoned for by a god; fear of a beyond to which death is the portal; the form of the cross as a symbol in a time that no longer knows the function and ignominy of the cross --

Lawnerd asked a question about Richard Dawkins being 'stumped' by an interviewer over an apparently simple question. See Lawnerd's question here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070531061558AA97NrG&r=w#N8VNJXPdMmvQBnHGZOfS

And yet this has been exposed as a fraud years ago. The footage was actually edited to give a fraudulent impression. Here's Dr. Dawkins telling the story:
http://www.skeptics.com.au/articles/dawkins.htm

For this fraud to keep going, people who KNOW it's a fraud must be propagating it. Why would creationists lie? Is their case so weak they know that can't win on facts?
